Daily Inspiration: Meet Omega Lewis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Omega Lewis.

Hi Omega, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born and raised in a small town called Donaldsonville; a place where fashion isn’t so prominent, I instantly knew what I was destined for. In mid-2017, I decided to launch my own styling business formerly known as “Haus of Luxe Style” to fulfill that purpose. My ultimate goal is to exude self-confidence and empowerment through my unique style.

In 2019, after getting my feet wet in the industry, I decided to revamp and include my name as apart of my brand so that I could be recognized as a household name. My work has been seen on major platforms, some of his clients include Dawn Richard of Danity Kane, Big Freedia of Fuse’s “Queen of Bounce”. Kristen Scott of VH1’s “Basketball Wives”, Actress & Recording Artist Tiffany Evans, Carvena Jones of Fox’s “The Four”, Rob Taylor of NBC’s “The Voice” & “American Idol”, Award Winning Gospel Artist Maranda Curtis, Gospel Billboard Charting Artist Titus Showers, and Celebrity Hairstylist Ashanti Lation. In July 2019, The highlight of my career was fabricated when “Haus of Luxe Style” was selected to be the official style team for the first Essence Fashion House event in history for Essence’s 25th Year Anniversary. Through hard work, dedication and many no’s, I was taught to never give up and follow towards my ultimate dream. Today, my work steadily speaks for itself and will always be set apart from the rest, leaving my imprint in today’s fashion industry!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The journey has been very hard, there has been plenty of no’s, lol. Starting off in the industry I was very hungry, I wanted to just get out there and style but didn’t have any work in my portfolio to show. Asking for pulls with no portfolio was a no-go, I could remember literally having to put outfits together that I purchased from thrift stores and do free work just to build myself an existing portfolio. After many months of consistently putting in my own money and drive. Once I started building my portfolio, networking and making connections, that’s when opportunity started to reveal itself.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a professional wardrobe stylist based in New Orleans, LA. My work extends from the south to the west coast. I specialize in different categories such as editorial, red carpet, film, and commercial styling. The proudest highlights of my career thus far would be the first stylist to lead Essence Fashion House in 2019, getting published with Essence, People, and Rolling Out. Currently, my latest proud moment would be styling my client Titus Showers for the Stellar Awards and the upcoming 2021 Inaugural Ball. What sets me apart from others in my field is my creativeness and my knowledge of fashion. My favorite thing to do is to mix high-end brands with middle/low-end brands to create something luxurious and beautiful.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was very outgoing growing up, I loved to just walk up to people and start talking to them. Personality-wise, I’m very nice and chill, I might look mean but I’m very cool lol. As far as my interests, I love anything dealing with fashion of course and also music. I’m a singer and songwriter, I’m also one half of a songwriting duo with my partner called “The MegaPenners”.
