Daily Inspiration: Meet Lyndonne Payne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lyndonne Payne.

Lyndonne, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started Dream Berries and Chocolates my strawberry company in April of 2022 from some brunch parties I host and served a unique type of chocolate-covered strawberry which was on my menu. People really seemed to like them, so I decided to turn it into a company of its own. I developed some colors and six flavors and textures to set them apart from how you would traditionally see a chocolate-covered strawberry. That caught on very well… after about eight months I then develop one additional menu option that continued to be based from my original Dream Berries… We launch the Dream Berries Chicken Waffle Cone. Once realizing I need to test it to market… on March 18, 2023 I competed in Dessert Wars in Las Vegas one of the largest desert festivals in the US… I place Top 10 Judges Choice. From then I was sure the Dream Berries chicken Waffle Cone was going to be a smash… people where willing to stand in line for 20 and 30 mins just to have a taste. The Dream Berries Chicken Waffle Cone is a sweet, savory dessert packed with bursts of flavors… can you imagine your traditional chicken and waffle dish portabalized, packed in a colorful cone and ready to go as a quick snack, dessert or even a brunch or lunch menu item. I sell Dream Berries and the Dream Berries Chicken Waffle Cone from my small cool creative trailer in Los Angeles via Farmer’s Market, Catered Events, and Food truck lanes in surrounding areas as well as city events. Dream Berries is taking a unique approach by opening food truck locations in different cities as opposed to brick-and-mortar locations to spread the word. Our second truck is scheduled to open in Houston, TX. Fall of 2023. Kids love it, adults love it…even the Grannies love it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a smooth road creating Dream Berries with the exception of sometimes city permits become a bit expensive as they will charge you to attend each and every event separately even though it’s the same city same product.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a born entrepreneur… I’m first an artist as my main creative interest is film and Television where I studied at the University of Houston. My specialization is camera operator… that has taken me all over the world. What I’m most proud of my second company PZ Road Tennis…which is a sports company I developed from the sport of Road Tennis which comes from my country of origin Barbados. What sets me apart from others is my unmatched dedication to hustle and consistency, hard work…and a strong sense of manifestation in everything I do. Also to outwork me well you have to get up a week or two before… I love creating in all sorts of mediums…and right now really in love with creating the best type of dessert that starts with Dream Berries…. what’s really special are the customers…the joy is actually getting on the truck and interacting with all walk of life and sharing our dessert…really special the look on their face, their first reaction is the best part of it all.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Working out, and exercising is my only help resource… that keeps me full of energy to continue to create, build and execute my ideas…
