Daily Inspiration: Meet Lovey Scott

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lovey Scott.

Hi Lovey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I am here to tell you that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Philippians 4 vs 13. I thought I was facing death when I slipped and fell off a cliff hiking at the age of 12 which has caused so much pain in my life limiting to tailoring an hourly job. I started candle making in Fall 2018 with a free candle making class. I discovered that soy candles were healthier for consumers. I had a $50 gift card that my health plan sent me, which enabled me to buy my beginners package. My brother Gene Autry Heard Jr. Came up with the name Aura of Amouri… Amouri being my Gospel Rapper, Poet, and Radio Host Name. Also it being my actual name in French. I practiced for six months and received my seller’s permit in May of 2019. My 1st event was two days at the Ultimate Women’s Expo in Anaheim May 4th/5th. I made over 300 plus candles and only had 20 left afterwards. That motivated to push and do more. I have gotten the chance to work at several events including the Wenthworth Convention in Los Angeles in 2019. As of Feb. 11, 2021 Aura of Amouri is an LLC. The most amazing moment for me is giving my brother Gene co-ownership of this business. I always wanted to leave him something behind if anything ever happened to me. I experienced ministroke like symptoms May 9th of 2020 by God’s grace, I am alive without any hospitalization nor a major one. I am here for a divine purpose. All according to Gods Planning.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
All roads to success will have challenges. It’s all about the perspective. 2020 year of the covid business changed to certain degrees sales decreased to some degree, but also it was a time for new things to birthed into creativity. So making inventory, making molds and new designs were always a mission. The downtime was good to really enhance on the vision.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Gospel Rapper, Poet, Radio Host, Audio Engineer, and Soy Candle Maker A lot of my family friends and associates consider me a Boss Lady! I am known to having a great vision and attacking it in however that’s within my inner being. I know there is a higher power than myself. I consider myself Christian and believe Jesus died on the cross and I believe Jesus is the son of God. Candles are representation of God’s Light. I am known as a team player and helping hand, giving to less fortunate and considered selfless with a beaut98iiful mind and heart. I am also known for being a Gospel rapper, Poet, and Radio Host. I mixed and mastered my own mixtape Teach Not Twerk. I have my own radio show Diamondz Mix.

I also am a part of the praise team ministry of First Amos Memorial in Los Angeles where Rev Rodney Wooten is pastor. I do a poetry almost every Sunday in the morning service. I thank him and the praise team for welcoming me. What I am most proud of are three things Not letting my disabled status hinder my dreams of being an inspirational role model to my brother Gene Heard Jr and making him a young business owner being recognized by the city of Long Beach by the Mayor’s office for my participation in an event called Attitude of Gratitude and it’s Many Facets of Life coordinator Yvette Shaffer a vendor and also for music performance. I was truly blessed. What sets me apart from others is I don’t make excuses for failures, I learn to evaluate and then proceed to elevate. There is always a next level, but that will always require more to keep going. Challenges I love them because there is always a way!

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see this going globally. I will have my skincare line to be released at some point. Who knows what else will be added. I am always thinking for the future!
