Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Tucker.
Joe, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
A musician from the age of 12 on, I was immediately hooked on the guitar, playing it and practicing it any chance I got. When I was 17, I released my first punk rock record on 7-inch, 45rpm vinyl format. I then spent the next four years touring the Midwest with my band of renegade rockers, hitting my stride by age 21. Sometime in my mid-twenties, I purchased a laptop, and I soon after began experimenting with electronic music. Never before experiencing that level of intensity, I had found a second wind and a second musical love. I recently entered my 30’s and for the past four years, I have opened my studio doors to help other artists out with their projects by recording vocals, mixing and mastering mostly hip hop productions.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The struggle to stay consistent is always there. I always want to be creating something new, so I struggle with finding the balance between working and relaxing.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
It is well known in the community that If I am fortunate enough to work on your project, I will take a personal interest in seeing that it receives the service and craftsmanship you have every right to expect. I offer a laid-back setting to record your vocals with an industry expert engineer that has over 15 years of experience. You will get professional results at a reasonable price. I am also known for my quick work ethic and attention to detail. I like to provide a quick mix and master within sessions so artists have something to play as soon as they get in the car that will match up sonically to their favorite tracks. A lot of the time, this “rough mix” ends up being the final mix!
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Camping with my dad and brother.
