Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenx’D.
Hi Jenx’D, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been attracted to individuality and creativity, so I naturally gravitated towards things that allowed me to explore both!
At the time, I was attending University of Memphis as a Business Administration major and was watching an awards show one day. Seeing those red carpet looks inspired me to want to become a designer. My school didn’t offer that particular degree program so I had to look elsewhere. I found out about F.I.T. applied and got denied, but that didn’t stop me.
I left U of M shortly after and my journey eventually led me to Buffalo State College where I majored in Fashion and Textile Technology with a concentration on Apparel Design. In order to complete my degree program, I had to do a summer course and internship program at F.I.T. I did that and just never left New York City.
Since then, I’ve held many positions and have had extensive industry experience. The one I take the most pride in tho is becoming my own boss and establishing my company Jenx’D International, which offers an array of creative services. I’ve always been the type to pave my own way, and that’s exactly what I did and still do!!!
Jenx’D International afforded me some great opportunities and fostered some everlasting relationships.
So here I am today, re-establishing myself as a Content Creator… The Truth Sayer and Style Slayer!!!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing’s ever easy… Struggles come in all shapes and sizes when trying to establish brand recognition, providing quality content/product, growing a fan base and elevating both personally and professionally.
My biggest battle has been personal! I’m one of those people that happen to procrastinate and overextend my focus… which further feeds the procrastination! Now don’t get me wrong, I get shxt done… but I also invest a lot of energy into moving when I want to move which can sometimes be counter-productive… nonetheless, I stay productive, I progress and I excel!
I have a lot of dreams, skills and talents and would ultimately love to see everything into fruition… That takes a lot of work and discipline tho, some blood, sweat and tears!!!
There are other struggles too, but I make it my business to persevere for my business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Content Creator, the Truth Sayer and Style Slayer.
I’ve built a reputation off my styling prowess, androgyny, being a conversationalist and the energy that I exude! I’ve been told plenty of times how I change the atmosphere around me and that’s something I’ve taken with great responsibility.
I do many things but for some time now, I’ve been pushing merch/narratives (Have U Been Jenx’D). I custom drip leather jackets that also glow under black light (Drip Appeal); I sell accessories (Jenx’D Jewlz) and have a line of nose chains (Nose Cxndy). I do a weekly live discussion (Tell The Truth Thursday) and am also in the works of developing an Only Fans (Kinkx With Jenx’D) that’ll focus on erotica as well as my journey of becoming a Dom.
I’m Real… I’m Authentic… I’m Transparent… and I’m Necessary!!! Stay tuned and you’ll see exactly how I set myself apart!!!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
It’s funny that u should ask. My name is Jenx’D (pronounced jinxed)… Normally jinx is associated with negative connotations, like bad luck, I however flipped the meaning and redirected it into a different light, like good luck! The “e” is for existence and there’s power behind word, so u can speak against something, but u can also speak for it and speak it into existence… so that’s basically the route I go with it!
It’s also what I did with my line of nose chains called “Nose Cxndy”. For those who don’t know, the term “nose candy” normally refers to drugs, moreso coke, but any that can be snorted. I decided to offer another product for the nose, but one used to adorn… and we can all get addicted to fashion statements!!!
My use of the letter x has become a thing too and is intentional. I’m very x-rated, raw and uncensored so I like to implement them when necessary as a brand indicator.
All that to say, a lot in life really depends on your perspective. Change your perspective… Change your life!!!
