Today we’d like to introduce you to Hafeezah Ausar.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a wellness coach and founder of Easy Vegan Eatz.
I began my plant-based journey 17 years ago (2005) in my late 20’s. After constantly living a life of illness, sluggishness, heavy menstrual cycles and other ailments, I decided that it was time to make some vital changes in my diet. After doing weeks of research I stumbled across a seven-day Juice Cleanse and Detox. With the help and support of a dear friend at the time and my now husband, I was not only able to complete the cleanse but quickly discovered some life-changing results. I had more energy than I had ever had as an adult. My thoughts were clearer, my skin was glowing, I had finally lost the weight I had gained during my college years, and I had never felt better.
I knew right away that I was on to something. I knew that diet was a huge factor as to why I was always getting sick and experiencing extremely painful menstrual cramps during my monthly menstrual cycle. After completing this simple cleanse/detox, I loved this new me and the skin I was in….and I realized that if I could go seven days with no solid foods whatsoever, that there was no reason why I shouldn’t be able continue this healthy trend by seeing how long I could go without eating animal products.
Let me just say, the journey was never easy. But after a year of trying and experimenting with plant-based recipes and cooking, I came to realize that I had made the best decision I could have ever made for myself. My menstrual cramping had miraculously disappeared, my immune system was strong and easily fought off the many illnesses that I had suffered from in the past. I was in good health and that was the best gift I could have ever given to myself after only a year of plant-based eating.
Fast forward over ten years later on a completely vegan diet, I noticed that once I would tell people about plant-based eating, I was often asked, “What do you eat?” or “How do you get your protein?”
So in 2016, I decided to start sharing photos of many of my favorite meals/recipes that my family and I had enjoyed over the years. Surprisingly I got such an overwhelming response from friends and family who were so impressed to see what we had been eating, I got an enormous amount of requests to share recipes and more plant-based ideas, so that friends and family could try! It was from this that my Easy Vegan Eatz food blog was born!
By 2017 and over 20k followers later on all social platforms combined, I announced the launch of my very own cleanse and detox program featuring quick and easy plant-based recipes for the entire family!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In the beginning of my detox coaching program, I would often try to convince people of the benefits of fasting and detoxing. However, many people would opt out in fear that they would not be able to survive multiple days without solid foods.
There is such a stigma regarding fasting and cleansing in the wellness industry it often makes it difficult for people to try or stick with it once they begin the process.
Early on, I realized that most people would sign up for my group coaching programs and drop off after the first day or two.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I’ve learned that my focus on health and wellness over the past decade has definitely paid off tremendously.
If there is anything that the pandemic has taught us, it’s that our health and wellness are truly our biggest assets.
If we prioritize our health by making it a daily lifestyle, we can withdraw from those wellness dividends earned over the years in time of crisis.
In my opinion, having strong Immune health and focusing on our wellness is the secret to surviving through our most vulnerable moments in life.
