Daily Inspiration: Meet Cynthia Montes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Montes.

Hi Cynthia, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am 28 years old and I have a seven years old daughter. I always had a passion for fashion, it’s always been in me. This was a dream I had for a long time but with me working a full-time job from 9-6 pm and having a kid, I just never had the time. I worked in the fashion district in a wholesale store as a sales associate and I honestly loved it, I love customer service and obviously helping people pick styles for their boutiques.

Last year was a hard year for everyone, as many places started to close, so did the store I worked for. Being home made me feel depressed and sad, I didn’t know what was gonna happen and I wasn’t used to it. One night while scrolling through my phone, I started to see all these small women-owned businesses and just started to realize that I finally had the time I always needed to started my own business. I started to talk to my husband and my mom about it and they were very happy and supportive of this. I was so scared, scared to fail. I didn’t know where to start or what to do. I finally started to get everything together and I was so excited. Since then, everything has been so new and so exciting. I’ve learned so much I’ve learned to be me to represent my boutique proud and loud I’ve learned that Instagram shows what you wanna see and because of that sometimes we just get discouraged. I planned and I saw my vision.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve had a hard time honestly it’s not easy. So many people doing what you do. You get discouraged at times. Imagine having a six years old needing to help her with her zoom classes, needing to plan content for your page, being active on social media, staying up to date with fashion, shopping for new arrivals, looking for places to take pictures, pack orders, and ship them out, keeping up with all the requirements for your website and for Instagram. It’s never easy but at the end, it’s all worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m proud of my business, of how far I’ve come in such little time. I have so many more dreams and accomplishments. I always wanted my boutique to represent me. I want people to know that you can wear a comfortable Outfit but you can also wear an outfit that makes you feel unstoppable and sexy. I want everyone and every body shape to feel comfortable in what I bring. I love to see my customers take pictures and love something so much as I love it when I see it as much as I love the style when I pack the order for them.

What matters most to you?
A lot of things matter to me the most starting by my family. I have to be thankful that they have supported this dream that I’ve had. I got to be thankful for them for always pushing me to my limits even when I feel that I can’t do it, they’ve always been there to tell me know you’ve come this far you can’t give up. Also, something that’s very important to me or my customers I wouldn’t be here without them. I have to be very thankful and very grateful to them for always supporting me. They’ve supported me in so many ways starting by sharing pictures of the outfits they have also by tagging me telling people about me commenting on my pictures. And always liking my pictures all that Has made me grow.
