Daily Inspiration: Meet Anju Bhandari

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anju Bhandari. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Anju started Social Studios LA after growing up on social media and working professionally in the social media industry. She started out in Honolulu, Hawaii running a viral Twitter account, editing music videos for Facebook, creating beauty, fashion, and lifestyle videos on YouTube, and posting her own lifestyle content on Instagram.

During her time at UCLA, she took part in any social media or public relations position in her campus involvements, worked alongside a lifestyle influencer, and on the social media marketing team of a beauty brand.

When the whole world went into lockdown, she started her own freelancing business offering her knowledge and services in social media marketing and content creation. Soon after more and more clients came, she wanted to work alongside a team of other smart and creative individuals and decided to start Social Studios LA— a Social Media Creative Marketing Agency based in Los Angeles.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest thing has been imposter syndrome and comparing myself to other successful people whether they were in the same space, friends in my personal life, or even complete strangers online.

I think especially being on social media and constantly consuming content of other peoples’ highlight reels and successes tend to make you feel like you’re not doing enough. The thing that I’ve come to learn is to use those people’s success as motivators and influencers of my own journey.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I would consider myself a content creator, and director. and coordinator. I create content on my own profiles and for other brands, whilst other conducting and coordinating content creation by other creatives for brands. I’m most proud of turning what I’m so used to loving and enjoying as a hobby, into work that I am passionate and excited about– something that I never thought that I could do growing up on social media.

Being able to help brands fulfill their visions and make dreams come to life has been very fulfilling for me. I think that my genuine passion and excitement for helping other brands in their creative processes is what makes me unique.

What matters most to you?
Happiness! Obviously, happiness comes as a broad term on a broad spectrum, and everyone has a different definition of happiness. To me, happiness is what makes me continue to live my life day to day as I look forward to exciting new possibilities, pursue things that make me happy, and try to surround myself with only positivity.

As cheesy and cliche as it sounds, we only have one life– why live a sad and dull one? I say make the most of it — whether that’s working on yourself, treating yourself to your favorite coffee, buying those shoes you’ve been eyeing, taking yourself on a date, or booking that vacation, chose things that will make you happy.
