Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Wegner.
Hi Amber, so excited to have you with us again today. To kick things off, for folks who might have missed our earlier conversation, what should they know about your story?
Let me start by saying thank you again for asking me for a follow-up interview as so much has transpired since our last interview! I am about to release episode 300 of my podcast, Actors Inspiration that is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and almost anywhere you get to listen to your podcasts currently.
I also finished filming my third feature film with director Ritchie Greer in a family-friendly film called, The Legend of Catclaws Mountain that will be released in 2023. In this film, I had the amazing opportunity to work opposite Dee Wallace, Rico Ross, and the very talented young actress Hayden Hishaw. In addition to all of this, my husband just opened a restaurant in Santa Monica with his childhood friend and two star Michelin Rated Chef, Josiah Citrin, called Augie’s on Main.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There are always obstacles in any endeavor, especially ambitious ones. There is so much rejection that can come with acting. There are also wonderful and amazing opportunities around every corner. And if the opportunities are not revealing themselves, then it’s a great time to start creating them! When I started my podcast last year, I only had 10-15 listeners. I now have had almost 10k listeners in over 25 countries around the world! The key to success is in anything consistency.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a proud member of The Young Artist Academy. I was so honored to recently present the award for Outstanding Podcast Host at The Young Artist Academy Awards. In my podcast, Actors Inspiration, I am a huge advocate of following your dreams, conquering your fears, and never ever giving up. You are never too old or too young or too anything to dream big and go after it! There are plenty of people that will give you all the reasons why not to pursue your dreams as an artist. I’m proud to say that my podcast is not that place. I close every episode by saying, “If no one else tells you today, I believe in you. Go create some miracles, and always believe that you can”
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I love Awards Chatter Podcast from Hollywood Reporter, hosted by the dynamic and talented Scott Feinberg. I love Oprah Winfrey and all podcasts that she’s a part of as well as O Magazine. Audrey Moore’s podcast, Audrey Helps Actors was and is instrumental in my successful journey as an actor. I’m also a huge fan of the podcast, Smartless. I was honored to be a guest on both Paul Vato’s podcast as well as The Moving Spotlight Podcast.
