Today we’d like to introduce you to Vahagn Stepanyan. Below is Vahagn’s story that has been shared with us.
As an extraordinary talented Music Producer, Arranger, Songwriter, Film/TV Composer, Keyboardist and Grammy Voting Member, Vahagn Stepanyan has worked with some of the biggest names in the world of music. Vahagn is also one of the judges of “Intercontinental Music Awards” and “Foley The World” Sound Design contest.
Vahagn’s musical journey started at the early age of eight when he was enrolled into a music school for classical piano lessons. Vahagn began composing, arranging and recording soundtracks for films. At an early age, Vahagn’s musical passions and endeavors gave him the experience he needed to compose music and write songs for well-known artists.
Throughout the years, Vahagn has collaborated with a host of artists from over 30 countries through studio work, tours and writing including Nathan East, Eric Marienthal, Eric Moore, Henrik Linder, Mark Lettieri, Ida Nielsen and many others. Produced and featured over 50 albums, wrote and produced over 200 original songs and compositions for different artists and production companies.
Currently Vahagn is endorsed artist over 60 companies including Austrian Audio, Antelope Audio, Audeze, Black Panther, East West, Godox, iZotope, Kali Audio, Moog, Native Instruments, Nord, ROLI, Waves Audio, 64 Audio and others…
Starting from 2017 by the request of world-leading maker of audio plugins Waves Audio, Vahagn created presets for favorite plugins ‘Renaissance’ bundle including RVerb; REQ2; REQ4; REQ6, Clavinet and Electric 200 Piano. Vahagn also created some presets for IK Multimedia’s first physically modeled bass virtual instrument MODO Bass. Today these plugins are the first choice for many Grammy-winning mixing engineers, music producers, musicians and sound designers.
In February 2023, Vahagn’s written and arranged “Motion” song has won “The Akademia Music Grand Award” in the category of Best Jazz Song in February 2023.
Recently the Recording Academy selected Vahagn Stepanyan as a Grammy U Mentor for Spring 2023.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
If there is a smooth road, that means you don’t have a long journey to go. It’s never easy but through hard work and dedication, you will always have success if you like what you do. In these days, people value only nice social posts without having any idea about what’s happening behind the scenes. This journey was not easy for me and I still work hard to achieve my goals.

Currently, I’m working on my most exciting upcoming album which will release in April 2023. This album will be one of the most amazing projects that I’ve ever done.
The short documentary series about my upcoming album is available on my YouTube channel. The album will feature world renown musicians such as Dave Koz, Eric Moore, Greg Howe, Ida Nielsen, Leslie Johnson, Mark Lettieri, Melvin Lee Davis, Philip Lassiter and others.
