Conversations with Polett Ramírez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Polett Ramírez.

Hi Polett, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m an actress from Mexico City. Ever since I was a child, I always dreamed of dedicating myself to the world of acting, but for various reasons, I was never able to make it a reality. For many years, I heard negative comments and criticisms from people telling me that acting was a difficult path and that I should look for a more stable job, that I was too old to start from scratch. But despite all of that, I always felt that acting was what truly passionate me and made me happy. It wasn’t until a few years ago that I decided to trust myself and pursue my dream of becoming an actress. At that time, I resigned from my stable job at a luxury brand and started studying acting seriously. I immersed myself in various acting schools in Mexico City, learning different techniques and styles and working hard to grow as an actress. It has been a difficult and challenging journey, but I have never stopped believing in myself and my dream.

I have had the opportunity to work on several projects, including some short films in collaboration with the talented film director Leonardo Arturo. Each project has taught me something new and helped me grow as an actress. And this year, I am very excited to take a big leap in my career, as I will have the opportunity to star in the movie “Once Upon a Star” which will be filmed this 2023 in Los Angeles, California, alongside the talented actor Oscar Ganem and director Leonardo Arturo, and I know that together with the excellent production team, we will create something truly moving and beautiful.

For me, this experience has been a reminder of the importance of trusting oneself and one’s dreams. Although there may be difficult moments and people who try to discourage us, we should never stop believing in ourselves and in what truly makes us happy. I am very grateful for this opportunity and I know it will mark a before and after in my career as an actress and as a person.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
When I made the decision to leave my stable job to pursue my dream of becoming an actress, I knew I would face social and emotional challenges. Many people told me I was crazy to leave a secure and well-paying job to venture into an uncertain and difficult world like acting.

At first, it was tough to deal with the criticisms and negative comments from friends, family, and colleagues who didn’t understand my decision. I questioned whether I had made the right decision and whether I could really make my dream a reality. Additionally, the social pressure to have a stable job and successful career was overwhelming, which made me feel insecure and uncomfortable with my choice.

However, over time, I learned to trust myself and ignore the judgments of others. I realized that this path was the one that truly made me happy and passionate, and I wasn’t willing to give it up because of fear of social disapproval. I began to surround myself with people who supported me and believed in my dream, which helped me overcome the tough times.

Looking back, I know that making the decision to leave my stable job and pursue my dream of acting was not easy, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I learned to trust myself and my ability to overcome obstacles, and I discovered that happiness and personal fulfillment are more important than following social expectations.

In summary, the biggest challenge I faced in pursuing my dream of becoming an actress was the social pressure and negative criticism from the people around me. But I learned to trust myself and my choice, and ultimately found happiness and personal fulfillment along the way.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As an actress, I have the privilege of using my emotions and experiences to bring characters to life on stage or screen. It’s a beautiful thing to be able to tap into the depths of human emotions and use them to tell stories that resonate with audiences. Through my work, I have learned so much about myself and the world around me. Each character I play presents a new challenge and an opportunity for self-exploration.

One of the things I’m most proud of as an actress is my ability to connect with my characters on a deep level. I take the time to understand their motivations, their fears, and their dreams, and I use that knowledge to bring them to life in an authentic way. What sets me apart from others is my commitment to self-exploration and self-knowledge. I believe that the more I know myself, the better I can portray different characters and connect with audiences. It’s not always an easy path, but it’s one that brings me joy and fulfillment

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Good or bad luck, for me, is energy from the universe that guides you along a path of lessons. I have learned to approach things that may seem like bad luck with a philosophical mindset, to transform them into growth and knowledge, and to feel grateful when good luck appears. I also recognize that effort, dedication, and decision-making lead us to gratitude with ourselves and to being aligned with our purpose.
