Conversations with Kyle Young

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Young.

Hi Kyle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started working on art and media projects with my dad since about 12 years old. The beginning was drawing, which transitioned into animation, graphic design, music, film production, and recently 3D art and video game development.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some roads were smoother than others. The easy answer is say financial problems. Saving money was a challenge.

Relationships were also difficult to maintain. Learning to love myself was one of the biggest struggles along the way.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I create art, mostly digital. I would say my specialties/passions are music and visual art creation. I feel like I’m mostly known for being a music artist, as well as for my work with my dad.

I also created the brand Youradica, which started with caps and beanies, then transitioned to content creation and mobile gaming. I am most proud of my journey, and my courage to continue. I think what sets me apart from others is that I do multiple art forms at a certain level. I am self-contained, but don’t mind a collaboration.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I like the diversity of Los Angeles and the high concentration of like-minded artists and creators. I also like the work opportunities, the nightlife, and the events.

I dislike that it’s too hot… sometimes.
