Conversations with Crystal Loverro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Loverro.

Crystal, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Binghamton, NY and planned on attending medical school after graduating with my Bachelor’s in neuroscience and pre-health from Binghamton University. I realized I was unhappy and had an epiphany that I should join an acting class and research acting and film. I decided to move to Portland, OR with a close friend since there were no opportunities for acting and film in my hometown. I joined my first acting class at The Actors Lab and never turned back! I fell in love with acting and began gaining experience on independent film sets. I spent three years in Portland building my skills and resume. Right before I moved to Los Angeles, I went viral on YouTube and decided to become a YouTuber with the collaboration of my creative business partner, Jason Rosenblatt. I am now pursuing an acting career in Los Angeles, and I work on the YouTube channel with Jason in Portland and LA.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been easy. I came from a disadvantaged background and grew up in poverty and hardship. I also have disabilities that create obstacles for me. I am partially blind and have C-PTSD. I have since built a positive and safe environment for myself and am grateful for my husband and the family I have gained along the way. I am also training my psychiatric service dog, Zelda, which has been a massive help.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an actor and YouTuber. I am most known for The Cross-Eyed Dominatrix YouTube series that can be watched on my YouTube channel (@CrystalLoverro). Most of what I have done has been comedy, but I have acted in my share of drama as well. I feel comfortable with drama and comedy, but I love a well-written dramedy! I would love to be cast in more dramatic roles.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Cherish the people you love. Be kind and supportive. Also, anything can happen at any time. Be grateful for what you have. Life can be disrupted in the blink of an eye.
