Reem, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Studio Reem was founded in 2015 to capture timeless moments along life’s journey. “Timeless” because if done properly, a photograph viewed twenty years from now should convey the same feelings…the same character…the same vibrance…as if it were in real-time. My ability to deliver this unique gift across different focus areas of photography – whether it be family (engagement to newborn), special events, or even runway fashion – has led to a diverse and loyal client base that includes high-profile organizations like Komen Foundation and LA Fashion Week. My portfolio has received international recognition, with recent features in England’s Ross Parry Newspaper and acclaimed fashion media agency Runway Dubai. The transition into fashion photography has been a natural one for me. With an artistic eye and designer background, I can assist clients with developing creative concepts and then bringing them to life on camera. Whether shooting in my Irvine studio or on-location somewhere in beautiful Southern California, I take great pride in providing custom, detail-oriented work to each valued client with whom I maintain lasting professional relationships and friendships. And even while holding a Bachelor of Arts from Marymount University, I continue to be a lifelong student of my craft, participating in online courses and live workshops that further refine my photography and editing skills.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The last few years have been a real challenge for me as a photographer. The emergence of Covid and the shift from Fashion and Runway photography to Headshot and portrait photography have been difficult to adjust. On top of this, I have had to work through technical issues that have arisen from time to time. This has pushed me to become more creative in my approach to photography. I have experimented with different techniques, styles, and lighting setups to find something that speaks to my unique style. It has also been a balancing act managing my time between shooting and doing the necessary administrative work. It has taken a lot of hard work, dedication, and practice to manage this juggling act successfully. Despite these challenges, I have found joy in every moment of this journey and am proud of how far I’ve come!

I help my clients make a powerful statement without saying a word by providing expert direction and posing to emphasize their best features. I offer high-level styling advice and tips to ensure that every headshot and portrait looks professional, polished, and stunning. To make an even bigger impression, I provide facial expressions and posing coaching to ensure that every headshot communicates the desired message. With my guidance and professional advice, my clients will be able to capture the perfect picture that will help them stand out from the competition and leave a lasting impression.
How do you think about luck?
Luck has been an instrumental factor in my life and business. I’ve had great luck encountering the perfect people at the ideal time, which has opened up remarkable chances for me. For instance, a fortunate occurrence to meet a designer at a networking event enabled me to have a fruitful career in Fashion and Runway. This also produced a wide and steadfast customer base, including acclaimed associations such as Komen Foundation and LA Fashion Week. My portfolio has received worldwide recognition with recent features in England’s Ross Parry Newspaper and celebrated fashion media agency Runway Dubai. In conclusion, luck has been an integral part of my accomplishments, but hard work and dedication have played just as significant of a role.
