Today we’d like to introduce you to Nguyen Tran.
Hi Nguyen, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am the founder and designer of LE RÉUSSI®. I am an Asian American who grew up in Vietnam. Despite having a business degree and MBA from Houston, Texas, I had no prior experience in the fashion industry. However, I developed a love for sewing and making clothes as a child, thanks to my mother and sisters, who were tailors.
In 2020, during the lockdown caused by the pandemic, I decided to pursue my passion for fashion as a professional career. I saw it as my destiny to finally embark on a path that was already in my blood but had never come to fruition. The challenging circumstances of the pandemic gave me the push I needed to finally start my journey in the fashion industry, which I had always wished to pursue.
My compassion for fashion and business and the support from people around me brought me to where I am today. The path was not easy and is still not easy today, but with strength, consistency, and compassion, I have never thought of giving up.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Unless it is the offspring of a large firm, no start-up business can expand along a smooth path. Our business is the same. We continue to face a great deal of difficulties. I can think of partners, capital, and human resources as some of the challenges.
Because we need to offer perks they can receive while working for huge organizations, it is difficult to locate highly skilled individuals to work for a start-up business. And that is difficult since small firms lack the financial resources to pay like large corporations.
Choosing the correct business partners is another issue. My experience has shown that when dealing with larger corporate partners, we get bullied. They consistently demand that we give up our profit if we want to deal with them because they are more well-known and their brand is more well-known. Or, some business partners enter the picture with lovely promises but can only follow through if they are aware that a tiny firm will need more time and resources to take legal action against them for performance concerns. Finally, in order to go forward, we must cancel the contract and accept the loss.
There are so many struggles for a business that builds from scratch. I just have to learn from my failure.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Networking and finding a mentor are both essential for success in any industry. Here are a few tips that have worked well for me:
1. Attend industry events and conferences – this is a great way to meet other professionals in your field and make connections. Be sure to introduce yourself and exchange contact information with those you meet.
2. Join professional organizations – this can be a great way to connect with other like-minded individuals and learn about opportunities for mentorship or networking.
3. Use social media – LinkedIn and other social media platforms can be powerful networking tools. Connect with professionals in your industry, engage with their content, and reach out for advice or mentorship.
4. Be proactive – be bold, reach out to someone you admire, and ask if they would be willing to mentor you. Most people are eager to help others who are passionate and committed to their field.
When it comes to finding a mentor, it’s essential to be clear about what you are looking for and what you hope to gain from the relationship. Look for someone with experience in your field and willing to share their knowledge and expertise with you.
Remember, networking and mentorship are ongoing processes. It’s important to maintain relationships with those you meet and continue to seek out new opportunities for growth and learning. With dedication and perseverance, you can build a strong network of professionals who can help you achieve your goals.
