Community Highlights: Meet Joseph Bennett of Sixps Clothing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Bennett.

Hi Joseph, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am an African man who was born in West Covina, CA. I grew up in the south side of Pomona, California. I grew up with a lot of different people and I learned a lot growing up in Pomona. I graduated from Ganesha high school in 2008. Started my clothing line in 2014 with some of my close friends I went to school with at Ganesha high. In 2016, I parted ways with my partners and decided it was best for me to peruse my clothing line alone and bring my vision to life… I also took on photography and got more hands on with my merchandise. My brand is 6p’s clothing which represents Pomona where I learned everything I know. When I first started, I branded my logo 6’ps. My first release was graphic t’s. In 2018 my business started to take off. I was putting out merchandise and people really started support the movement. 2021 is going great business is booming. I have a steady clientele, I have a lot of support from my customers who supported me from the start and I’m gaining new customers everyday from California all the way to Louisana. I look forward to all the great merchandise I will be releasing this summer. Everyone will know Pomona when they see 6’ps around the world. I look forward to the year and all the blessings coming my way.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been bumpy because you get more support from the outsiders then family and friends it’s crazy to say that the strangers who support me keep me going.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Besides Sixps Clothing, I help build smaller brands and give them guidance for my own experiences. I took on photography as I stated and photography has been my secondarily income in between my clothing releases. Please for @Sixkimages_vi

How do you think about luck?
Once my brand started getting recognition, I started getting city love as well as fake love and clout chasers as well as opportunists.

It’s really hard to tell real from fake when you’re a caring person. So I’m always being taking advantage of because of my kind heart. That’s has been my biggest downfall.
