Today we’d like to introduce you to Aurora Meneghello.
Hi Aurora, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am originally from Italy and moved to Los Angeles when I was 19 years old without knowing anyone. As a young person, I intuitively understood that we all have a compass deep down inside and that it points the way. I was super scared, but I trusted something deep inside of me to guide me.
When I look back, I can now see the path, but moving forward it always appeared one step at a time.
So that in a way was the start of where I am now: I am a Transformative Coach and I help people who are not sure what they want to do next to change careers. I like to describe my work as creating space for inner wisdom to show up. Together my clients and I explore living and working from a deep sense of presence and purpose.
Many years ago, I successfully transitioned from photography to marketing, and the hardest part was to know what I wanted to do next. While I enjoyed marketing a lot, in the back of my mind I always had a little voice whispering that it would be cool to help others change careers as well, but it didn’t seem practical. At the time I was really into “controlling” my life: set goals, know what you are doing, go for it!
But then something awoke in me…what if I could let go of trying to make things happen? What if I could trust the flow of life? So, I quit my job and let myself pursue ideas and things I liked without having to figure things out right away. Just take one step at a time, enjoy life, and live from my inner Wisdom.
Many steps later, Repurpose Your Purpose was born. Every year my coaching deepens, I celebrate the achievements of my clients, and I practice trusting that life is bigger than me and knows better. If I tune in, the compass still points the way…
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Lots of ups and downs! From the struggles of being a small business owner and starting from scratch, to doubting my skills, or being afraid of failure. But that is not what I want to talk about, because I used to worry so much about all those things and the worry often paralyzed me or kept me from seeing possibilities.
Instead, I want to talk about what happened as I opened up to my own inner Wisdom and started to trust life: unexpected support and inspiration arrived.
One facilitator I chatted with online decided to gift me a box full of books she thought I might like. Out of the blue! One of those books introduced me to some of the most important practices I use in my work.
I serendipitously met my coach at a large conference with hundreds of people. I just felt I had to say Hi to him as he passed by. A hunch. I would have never acted on that before; it seemed so crazy. Well, he has been my coach for many years now and absolutely changed my life.
I met mentors, colleagues, clients who are kind, good-hearted, open to others. I would have never been able to recognize them if I had still been stuck in my old ways of having to figure everything out. Opening up to the world made the world a place I love to be in.
Did I have challenges along the way? Yes. But the more I could remember to open up and trust life, the more I could deal with them and find wonder along the way.
We’ve been impressed with Repurpose Your Purpose, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My clients often remark that our work together impacts much more than their finances, businesses, or careers: it changes their lives. I practice deep, transformative coaching. This is a radically different and much more powerful approach to transformation than corporate or more traditional approaches to achieving goals. Together we shift things at their core.
Repurpose Your Purpose’s flagship program is the Group Program to Change Careers which happens a couple of times a year. It is a program for people who want to change careers but are not sure what they would like to do next.
I also work with individuals one on one, whether they want to change careers or grow their business.
My clients are looking to live a life of purpose, do work they love, grown their businesses, and nurture healthy organizations.
Something that might surprise most people is that I offer a 6-day coaching intensive: we meet online once a day for a coaching session over 6 consecutive days. And for some people, this is all that they need to reconnect with their inner Wisdom and move forward.
And I work with other clients for years: we start with career change and continue coaching as they start a business, increase their wealth, etc., always from a place of inner Wisdom and being open to life.
The best way to hear what it’s like to work with me is from my clients themselves: https://repurposeyourpurpose.com/testimonials/
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
Lately, one memory that has been popping up in my head is my grandmother teaching me how to read and write before I started elementary school. She was an elementary school teacher and loved teaching children. She wrote bit by bit Little Red Riding Hood (Cappuccetto Rosso in Italian) and made me copy each line and make drawings of the story. I remember really liking it and having a lot of fun spending time with her. She always made me feel loved and I was so happy to share with her what I had learned!
