Community Highlights: Meet Amy Webb of Bucket List Egypt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Webb.

Amy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up as an Egyptian in the US, I’ve always had friends asking me to take them to Egypt next time I go. I realized that Egypt was on so many people’s bucket lists, but they just didn’t know where to start planning and/or a trusted businesses that would take care of them. In 2019 my husband and I decided that we would make our wedding in Egypt. That way, we would be able to take our close friends and family and host them on an adventure of a lifetime. We only had a limited space for 100 people and most thought we were crazy to think that 40 or 50 people would join on this adventure on the other side of the world. To our amazement, we were completely booked and couldn’t take anymore guests! That’s when my friends, Karim Refaat and Bassem Yassa, decided we should start Bucket List Egypt as they equally shared a passion for bringing people into Egypt and creating an unforgettable experience.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
We are a travel service brand and we started just months before the pandemic hit. Everything shut down and especially travel. But we knew that people still wanted to cross this off their Bucket List so we just had to see how we could change our service to ensure safety and Covid protocols. Now, we are seeing a huge surge as people are ready to get out and travel!

As you know, we’re big fans of Bucket List Egypt. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We specialize in bridging the gap for American travelers to visit Egypt in a safe and luxury experience. We co-create and tailor packages for each guests. We educate travelers that Egypt has much more to provide beyond historic sites. Egypt has beautiful beaches with some of the best diving in the world, desert camping, hiking, religious history, and spiritual/wellness retreats.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I think that everything in life has some form of risk and nothing is ever guaranteed. I think a big risk for me was stepping out from my full-time job and becoming an entrepreneur in 2017. I was so scared to do it but now I see how rewarding it can be when you have the ability to create your own vision and see it come to life.
