Check Out Rachel Jones’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Jones.

Hi Rachel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am from Los Angeles. Growing up, my family always had dogs and for as long as I can remember, I have always been obsessed with all dogs. I have lost count of all the times I have pulled my car over just to hop out and say hi to a stranger’s fur baby going for a walk. Towards the end of 2017, I was working as a nanny and an assistant and was feeling quite unfulfilled professionally as I was still searching for my purpose. I found myself at a crossroads where I could continue going down the same path I had been on most of my 20’s which quite frankly led to nowhere, or I could take a leap of faith in another direction and take more control and live life more on my terms. At that point, I chose the latter and embarked on the journey of entrepreneurship. I spent a lot of time reflecting on what exactly I wanted to pursue, and knowing myself, I knew If I were going to sell a product or service, I had to truly be passionate about it otherwise it would fail fast. It did not take me long to realize that nothing made my heart smile more than dogs and that I wanted to create products for them. Trill Paws was created out of my over-the-top obsession for dogs and my love of Pop-Culture. I found that so many pet ID tags on the market are dull and can be a bit boring, so we design tags and accessories that are unique, refreshingly fun and totally on trend. Today, I work day in and day out to create relatable + unique products for your pups along with making sure every customer has a superb shopping experience.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Leaving a secure job and starting a business must be one of the scariest things I have ever done. It certainly has not been a smooth road and there have been hurdles around every corner from the beginning even up till today. When I first launched the business and received my first batch of pet tags from my manufacturer, they looked incredible! I was so excited to begin selling them that I did not take any time to stress test them or verify how durable they were. I just assumed they would hold up well and everyone would love them. That proved to be a costly mistake as it led to a flurry of customers complaining that the tags were breaking off collars after a few weeks of wear. Quality assurance was the very first lesson I learned starting this business.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Trill Paws is a pet accessory and lifestyle brand based out of Los Angeles, California. Trill Paws creates pet tags and accessories that are inspired by pop-culture icons and sayings — anything from emoji designs, popular sayings, fun memes, and more. At Trill Paws, we know that dogs aren’t just pets; they’re family, and they deserve the best. The best tags, the best toys, the best spot in the bed. We’re basically driven to be the people our pets think we are.

What’s next?
My plans for the future are to continue to grow this business and expand our product offerings and designs. There’s a Trill Paws tag for every fur baby and I want every dog to have one. That’s what drives me every day.
