Check Out Stevie Mackey’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stevie Mackey.

Hi Stevie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well, my journey started in church as a child, singing in a choir, and at home singing with my family. At about 18 I realized I had a special ability to mimic different voices and to help people to know their voices. So I took it seriously, went to school for music and began vocal coaching my friends, and other professional singers began to reach out. I used Instagram and other platforms to grow my brand and business to what it is today by posting videos of my voice lessons and Taco Tuesday music parties.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I think being a creative person is always a blessing and a curse. While most of my friends were following their professional paths, I was usually left to blaze my own trail. I never could have imagined what the future had in store for me.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a professional singer and celebrity vocal coach. I am known for being an advisor to some of the greatest performers of all time. I am most proud of living a well-rounded life; the time I am able to spend with my family, traveling, singing with different artists, helping up-and-coming artists, and throwing music events.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I am blown away by the amount of ear/pitch training apps out there, I keep about 3 different ones on my phone to test out when I have time. Tiktok has been a great new way for me to discover up-and-coming artists. Also, I am reading an eye-opening book titled “Talent is Never Enough,” by John Maxwell. Every artist should check it out!
