Check Out Matthew (ChefMatt) Stockard’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew (ChefMatt) Stockard.

Hi Matthew (ChefMatt), it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I knew I wanted to be a Chef at an early age. I’ve always enjoyed cooking and looked at food as a blank canvas. Growing up in a multicultural community, I can remember eating different types of food growing up and just enjoying the different flavors each friend’s house offered. I never wanted to be a Chef that specialized in one cuisines, I wanted to be a Chef that could cook several cuisines and styles.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Getting hired was always the most difficult part. But once I got in any kitchen, I excelled and climbed the ladder due to my passion for food and work ethics.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
One of my many specialties is cooking with Cannabis and Cbd. I’m widely known throughout the industry as the go to Chef for catering events, conferences, and parties. I’d say I’m most proud for being a leader in the Edible space. Launching new products every quarter and constantly trying to move the edible category further. Putting the finishing touches on a Cooking with Cannabis Masterclass. What sets me apart is I want to leave the edible and cannabis space better than I found it.

What matters most to you? Why?
Opening up people’s minds and stomachs through foods they wouldn’t normally eat. I’m also big on Exotic food and getting people to try them. I feel that trying new foods gives people a sense of accomplishment. If I told you all the different meats I’ve tried, we’d be here for hours.
