Check Out Brady Keegan’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brady Keegan.

Hi Brady, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always loved photography. I remember as a child being given disposable cameras by my parents to use, then develop. Later, my love for landscape photography started when I would take road trips with m father. Photography was always on my mind but it never seemed like it could be anything more than a hobby.

When the COVID-19 Pandemic hit in March of 2020, as with everyone else, I was bored at home with nothing to focus on. I decided to pick back up the camera and learn everything I possibly could about it. When I mastered the settings, I started photographing products in my house, this included knives, coffee, pomade, and many other things. I started posting my product images on the internet and it grew to the point where I started getting emails from brands that wanted me to take their products photos. Flash forward to present day, I have worked with several coffee roasters, footwear brands, major e-commerce work, and even video content for local car dealerships. It is a dream.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not everything was smooth. Obviously, mastering photography and trying to start a business during the pandemic was not easy. I had to learn better ways to market and sell myself over imagery and messages that I could not convey in face to face meetings. Another challenge was knowing my worth. Being fresh into professional photography and business, I did not know what my work or photos were worth. It took some trial and error to realize what work goes into a photo session and what would be appropriate pricing.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a product and lifestyle photographer in the greater Los Angeles area. I do several genres of photography. Product/Lifestyle, and Landscape as a hobby. I have also done portrait sessions and weddings, but that is a smaller part of my career.

What sets me apart from other photographers is my blend of product and landscape photography. I like to take products into the nature (or city) and show them being used and displayed under beautiful yet realistic conditions. I am not afraid to wake up at 2 am and drive 5+ hours to get to a location to shoot for sunrise or stay late to get beautiful sunset light. I am determined to create the best imagery possible, no matter location or conditions.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something people might not know about me from social media is that I have a family. I am married and I have a four years old daughter. We are huge Los Angeles Rams fans, we love adventuring and camping, and recently my daughter has taken an interest in photography and has been shooting pictures with me.

As for a fun personal fact, I am a huge marvel fan. I could tell you anything and everything about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s a fun part of what makes me, me, that I don’t share on social media.

(If you’re a marvel fan reading this and want to geek out with me, please send me a DM)
