Art & Life with Cassandra Isbell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassandra Isbell.

Cassandra, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I grew up in a small, Midwest town all the way up until I graduated college. Over 8 years ago I began photographing friends and family when I was still in high school. It became a huge passion of mine, and I eventually became a photographer for weddings, brands, social media influencers, artists, etc. During college my opportunities began expanding, and I started to book more and more photo and video jobs across the country! Most of my clients are in the greater Los Angeles area, so I decided to take the leap and move from my Midwest town to LA. Since moving, I’ve gotten to meet so many beautiful, unique, and inspiring people. I get to capture real love, intimate moments, and works of art, like someone’s clothing brand they worked tirelessly to create, or cover art for a band’s latest record. I am so lucky to be a full-time photographer/videographer in the beautiful state of California.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am a photographer and videographer! All of it started as a passion. When I photographed my first couple ever, I just fell in love immediately with it. The same goes for the first video I ever filmed. One of my favorite parts about the job is seeing the reaction of my clients when I give them the final product. I once showed a bride a little preview while I was photographing her on her wedding day, and when she saw the photo she started to cry and said, “I didn’t know I could look this beautiful.” That’s the moment I knew I wanted to do this forever. I am always wanting to inspire people, and show them that you are beautiful, and you are confident enough to have your picture or video taken! I want everyone to know that my art is made up of real love, and real people. I’m always looking for that fiery passion and genuine laughter between a couple. I love that I get to freeze those intimate moments between two people.

In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
I think the biggest challenge is keeping up with trends, while also staying fresh and unique. It is easy to fall into the trap of copying others or feeling discouraged because there is so much competition out there.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
