Tiziano Mammana shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Tiziano, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
Many people believe that creating a professional wedding film is as simple as pressing a button—like recording a moment on a phone. The reality, however, is very different. At the heart of my work is storytelling. Being a wedding filmmaker means being a professional storyteller first using my on set cinematography and photography experience, using high-end cameras and equipment that require technical skill, precision, and lot of experience in the wedding industry.
Every wedding demands a deep understanding of framing, composition, lighting, sound, and drone operation. There is zero room for error. Missing the sound of the vows or experiencing a camera malfunction during the first kiss at the altar is simply not an option.
Filming weddings is an intense and demanding profession that requires years of experience in the field, along with careful planning and communication with couples and vendors for months and sometimes years. A wedding is one of the most important days in a couple’s life—and for their families as well. It comes with high emotions, expectations, stress, and a significant investment.
That is why creating a wedding film carries an enormous level of responsibility. Couples are placing their trust in your hands to preserve moments that can never be recreated. It’s not a job for everyone.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Tiziano Mammana, and I am the founder and owner of TM MEDIA, a wedding videography company based in Los Angeles, near Hollywood—the heart of the film industry.
I have been working with video and photography cameras for over 23 years, and for the past 8 years I have specialized in the wedding industry, gaining international experience across Italy, Canada, and the United States. My passion is creating meaningful films for couples who want to relive their wedding day for the next 30 to 40 years, not just watch it once.
What truly sets TM MEDIA apart is our attention to detail—and when I say detail, I mean people. We take the time to listen and support our couples, to understand their story: how they met, the moments that shaped their relationship, the proposal, and the deep connection they share with their families.
All of this is essential to us. Building a genuine relationship with each couple allows us to move naturally with their energy and needs on the wedding day, rather than following a cold, standardized approach. Every shot should carry emotion, intention, and meaning.
Today, TM MEDIA has grown into a dedicated team of professional videographers, photographers, and content creators, allowing us to serve couples with a wide range of needs and budgets through fully customized packages. Our focus is always on quality over quantity, which is why we intentionally limit our work to 20–25 weddings per year.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
That’s a great question.
I don’t believe there was one specific moment that shaped who I am today. Instead, it was the experience of traveling and living in different countries, connecting with people from all over the world—even through just a few exchanged words—that truly opened my mind. These experiences allowed me to see life from new perspectives.
Having a camera in my hands throughout this journey also helped me learn how to observe people and the world more deeply, to see stories through a lens, not just with my eyes.
If we remain open, curious, and eager to learn from the world around us, we never stop evolving and shaping ourself—both in how we see the world and in who we become.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there were many moments when I felt burned out—times when my passion faded, my creative side went quiet, and my stuttering became more pronounced. Life felt overwhelming, and it took a serious toll on my mental health.
But those moments taught me something essential: giving up is not an option. It’s often on the hardest days that we are called to push forward the most—and that’s where real growth begins.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
Like many videographers, I once believed that technical video quality and cinematic shots were the foundation of a successful wedding film. However, after filming more than 200 weddings and following an intensive journey into cinematography, I realized that I was wrong.
What truly matters is being a thoughtful and intentional storyteller for each couple. A wedding film becomes powerful when it captures the emotions that are most meaningful to them. The most genuine moments are often the quiet, human ones—a hug from a grandmother, a mother wiping away the daughter tears before she walk down the aisle, or the sound of a father’s voice breaking during a first look just moments before the ceremony.
Those are the moments that make a wedding film real—and unforgettable.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When my life will end, I hope people will remember me for the guy who created timeless memories of their love , their family, their friends and those people they really love.
Because the world needs more love, and love always begins with us and with the people closest to our hearts.
That’s why I always say “People pass, Memories fade, and nothing brings all that back like a good video!”
