Story & Lesson Highlights with YOSI ARBIB of Los Angeles

YOSI ARBIB shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

YOSI, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Absolutely. I bring a combination of reliability, follow-through, and problem-solving. I’m someone who takes ownership of challenges, communicates clearly, and doesn’t shy away from difficult decisions. At the same time, I tend to take on too much because I care about outcomes. I’m always working to delegate better so the entire team can grow with me. Overall, the strengths far outweigh the weaknesses—and the weaknesses are things I actively work on.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Yosi Arbib, and I’m the owner of Arbib & Sons Construction Inc., a third-generation family business based in Los Angeles. We specialize in structural concrete, hillside foundations, slope stabilization, and full-service luxury home construction. What makes our company unique is the combination of old-school craftsmanship passed down through my family and a modern, hands-on approach to project management.

Our work is deeply personal—we rebuild homes, stabilize hillsides, and help families feel safe again after disasters. Today we’re expanding into modular construction, large-scale new construction, and unique hillside projects across LA. Always with the same commitment: transparency, integrity, and treating every client like family.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
In my experience—both in construction and in leadership—bonds break when communication breaks. Confusion, assumptions, and silence create friction. People start to fill in the blanks with their own fears or frustrations. What restores those bonds is transparency, ownership, and steady follow-through. When you communicate clearly, admit mistakes, and stay consistent in your actions, trust rebuilds. Strong teams are built on strong relationships, and strong relationships are built on clarity and accountability.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell him, “Be patient with yourself. Every challenge you’re dealing with now is building the strength you’ll need later. Keep going—you’re going to be proud of who you become.”

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
I differentiate fads from real foundational shifts by looking at longevity, impact, and alignment with real human or market needs. A fad creates noise; a true shift creates change. If something still makes sense once the hype dies down, improves efficiency, solves a real problem, or becomes part of how people operate—not just what they talk about—that’s when I know it’s a foundational shift.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If immortality were real, what would you build?
If immortality were real, I would build something that outlives trends and generations—an entire ecosystem of communities designed around resilience, beauty, and connection. Homes that are fire-resistant, hillside-stable, sustainable, and built to protect families for centuries. I’d create structures that don’t just stand the test of time but actually improve the lives of the people who live in them.
