Maria, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
I totally would! I’m a mom of two boys under 5, which means I’m an expert at multitasking, I have developed excellent negotiation and persuasion skills. I’m an extremely well planner with great plan “b’s” because with kids, you never know, a private chef, I can be both a leader and a maid, depending on the situation, and a great team player who can function on 4 hours of sleep and pure caos!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a writer/producer and journalist. I sold two tv pilots to Sony and HBO, even though were not greenlit in the end. I worked for 9 years at a bilingual tv network as a producer, writer for editorial content, Talent Relations and entertainment reporter. I’m currently the co-creator and producer of Esencia, a Latina Wellness podcast.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
A storyteller. I loved making up stories to my friends since I can recall. I just never knew I could make a living out of it.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Fear of rejection. But now looking back, I’m so grateful for many of the “no’s” I got because they were blessings in disguise. There is truly not rejections but “redirections”.

Worrying. It’s a waste if energy, creativity and time.
