We’re looking forward to introducing you to Kash Young. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Kash , thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
This is a two part answer for me, because i’m definitely a person that believes highly in integrity. Your morals and who you are in your core will always determine the type of energy you give off. As they say Vibes don’t lie. Energy is very important to me. I can walk into a room and feel when the energy is good, genuine and honest. Versus being deceitful or misleading. I will remove myself instantly if someones integrity is easily compromised or if their Energy doesn’t sit well with mine.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Sure. Im Kash Young I’m a songwriter, recording artist, and vocal producer from Brooklyn, NY. Currently residing in Los Angeles, Ca. who’s passionate about telling stories through music that resonates deeply and authentically. I’ve spent years crafting my sound and honing my skills behind the mic and behind the scenes, working with artists across different genres to bring their visions to life.
In addition to my own music career, I’m also an executive with a team of talented individuals called Natural Authority Management where we help develop and guide other artists. That side of my work allows me to support emerging talent—not just creatively, but strategically—helping them navigate the industry with intention and integrity.
What makes my journey unique is the balance I strike between being an artist and an executive. I understand both the creative process and the business side of music, and I bring that dual perspective to everything I do. Right now, I’m focused on writing new music, expanding my creative collaborations, and continuing to build the bridge between platforms for other artists to grow and shine.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
It can be so many situations as to what may break a bond between people. If I had to sum it up into three main things that we hear about a lot, it would be betrayal, jealousy, and sometimes it doesn’t even have to be that heavy but simply outgrowing people. No longer liking the same things or wanting to frequent the same places. I think every one has their own journey and that journey will take a lot of twist and turns not allowing for certain people to be able to take that ride with you.
Now depending on the situation and how it was handled when the bond was broken will determine how and if it can be restored. I believe its definitely levels. I do have a big heart and if I loved you at one point i tend to give people chances to redeem or explain themselves, because I wanna know what was your thought process behind this. But on the flip side of that i’m very quick to tell you i can love you from afar and accept the fact that our bond will no longer be as strong as it once was. If we fell out because of our lives took two different paths and no betrayal took place we can possibly reconnect later on in life. I think there can be space for that bond to be restored.
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
When I was younger and felt sad or scared my go to was always music and my sketch book. I would put on the radio or listen to one of my favorite songs, get my sketch book and start drawing. A lot of people don’t know thats actually one of my hidden talents that I can really draw. I didn’t figure that out until one day I was grounded for like a week and I started recreating the comics that I would find in the back of the newspaper. After that, not just On those days when I would feel sad but even when I was in the house not doing much, I would zone out to the music and draw the funny characters it was like therapy to me. To be honest I haven’t done that in a while. I think as we get older sometimes we disconnect from some of the things that bring us pure joy. I might have to go ahead and get me a new sketch book, listen to of my playlist and see what happens lol.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
I would say the version of me that the public gets to see is only a part of who I truly am. I reserve certain parts of my character for the people that are close to me in “Real” Life ie. my family, my partner, and my close friends. When I’m in public I’m laidback and observant and thats real, But when I’m around people that I can let my guard down and relax they get the silly, vulnerable, funny part of me. Im not the same with everyone, but I am myself with everyone. Depending on the depth of our relationship determines which version of me you get to experience. Either way im a vibe. lol
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I have to give everything my best without expecting praise for it. As an artist you have to go in this with that mindset or it can really tear you down if you let it. Its so many times that we get up day in and day out going thru the process of not only writing, recording, and mixing a song but then promoting it to only get a couple of hundred to a thousand views. You have to have tenacity to keep going and do it for you! Do it because you love it and it feels good and eventually when other people begin to praise you for it thats just an add on to the joy you already have and not the main supply.
