We recently had the chance to connect with Carli Abiuso and have shared our conversation below.

Carli, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
Go completely and 100% full force on my authenticity in both business and life! Dressing how I want no matter what I’m doing (in whimsical historical or Ren Faire-inspired garb like corsets and pirate shirts); infusing everything in my brand with my mythic and Arthurian legend aesthetic; really trusting and claiming my voice in a way I hadn’t before. Stepping into new adventures that scare me. For instance, I have had whisperings of offers to create and ways to show up but an old voice would say “not yet” or “when you know more” or “when you have more followers.” I realized: ummm excuse me, but we don’t play small in our world! It is time to shine and own what you DO know. So I’m talking more about myth, more about the Grail quest, more about esoteric wisdom encoded in the mysterious and magical 12th century, more about making fantasy a reality in everyday life. And this time I’m like, if I am perceived as weird, so be it! In fact, GOOD!

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Carli Abiuso, founder of Your Hero’s Quest, a mythic realm and movement where creatives, leaders, and dreamers remember who they truly are: the heroes of their own story. My work weaves together fantasy, mythology, and reality creation to guide others in awakening their inner hero, embodying their personal magick, and living their most extraordinary lives.

I believe each of us is walking and weaving our own Hero’s Journey, an epic tale written through our very existence. When we begin to see life through that mythopoetic lens, everything transforms. We remember our courage. Our sovereignty. Our divine place in the greater story of the world. We realize we are not just living the story — we are crafting it.

I often tell my clients: you are the writer, the director, and the main character. The plot isn’t set in stone. You can edit it, re-enchant it, and reimagine who you are becoming. So I ask them: What is the story you most desire to live? What is your personal Grail quest? What would your hero do next? Who would they be in this moment?

This is what I call the Mythic Self. The version of you who is already living a legendary personal tale through your most authentic expression. And then we bring in the codes and characters from myth we can learn so much from (maybe today you need to draw upon the knight’s valor, this decision requires the clarity of a Queen, that situation could do with an out-of-the-box solution only a magician could think of. These parts are all within!) This work doesn’t just build confidence, but it reawakens beauty, wonder, and enchantment in everyday life that has a ripple effect into the world at large.

Right now, I’m creating cinematic courses and immersive experiences that help people shift into those timelines they dream of: abundance, freedom, love, creativity, expansion, and adventure. Your Hero’s Quest isn’t just self-development. It’s self-initiation. It’s claiming your Excalibur. It’s remembering that every obstacle is a threshold and every desire is an adventure, making transformation not only possible, but thrilling. It’s remembering that the key to your most fulfilled life was always in revealing more of YOU behind any masks you have been wearing, because there is only one of you and that is the greatest magick of all!

I seek to make all of my offerings feel like portals, bridging fantasy and reality, inner worlds and outer worlds. I’m currently expanding into in-person workshops and events, creating spaces where the myth comes alive!

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that has served its purpose and must now be released is the survival self: the version of me who believed she had to shrink, struggle, and hustle just to make it through. She carried me through battles with resourcefulness and perseverance when I didn’t yet know my own power, but now I am choosing differently. I’m choosing to step into my sovereign self, the one who knows she is fully supported, safe to be seen, and capable of creating worlds. The one who isn’t afraid to take up space and own the room, to lead; the one who isn’t afraid to believe in and claim overflow for herself just for being me.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me how to alchemize darkness into gold. How to see in the dark and make it a friend — no, a lover even! — instead of an enemy. How to love and accept all parts of myself and journey. Success reaffirms what’s possible, but suffering truly acts as a forge into our next levels, by fire. It reveals, it remakes. I learned of bravery, compassion, devotion, resilience, and keeping a positive mind and heart no matter what. In the darkest, most path-less parts of the forest, you’re invited to create your own that didn’t exist before. To find out what you’re really made of. But isn’t that success in itself?

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
What I understand deeply that many have forgotten is that reality itself is a living myth we are the authors of. And myth exists outside of time. Time isn’t linear; reality isn’t fixed; it all can bend. You are a spark of the Divine, a fragment of the Great Storyteller dreaming worlds into being. You are the clay and the sculptor. There is real magick in the land, in the unseen realms, and in you. The world is not what it seems: most of the rules we’ve been taught to obey were never laws of the cosmos, but are cages and illusions meant to make you forget who you are. And then to transcend.

Once you begin to see through this, you realize that life is not happening to you, but through you. You start to see the bigger picture.

Every thought is a thread, every emotion a color on the loom of creation. Change the story within, and the reflection without rearranges itself accordingly — just as it does in every great myth, every faery tale, and every act of creation.
