Sam Hajighasem’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

Sam Hajighasem shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Sam, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
The most surprising thing I’ve learned is how many business owners underestimate how interesting they actually are. Most founders think people only care about their product or service but audiences connect far more deeply with them as humans. Once we start building content around their stories, lessons, and behind-the-scenes moments, engagement and trust skyrocket.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Sam Hajighasem, founder of Venture Media and Venture Podcasting. We help brands, founders, and teams grow their online presence through authentic and organic content marketing and storytelling the kind that actually builds trust and drives demand, not just views.

What makes our work unique is that we combine deep marketing strategy with storytelling psychology. We’ve analyzed thousands of pieces of content across industries to understand what really resonates with audiences and we use that data to help our clients turn their ideas, podcasts, and conversations into social media content that grows their brand on autopilot.

My journey started with a simple belief: great marketing should feel human. Today, our focus is helping companies and founders share their message authentically, build communities around their ideas, and create systems that make content creation easy, scalable, and meaningful.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a curious kid who loved creating things and asking “why” about everything. I didn’t care about titles or expectations. I just wanted to understand how things worked and how people thought. That same curiosity still drives me today.

Somewhere along the way, life teaches you to play it safe to follow the script. But I’ve learned that real fulfillment comes from creating your own path, not fitting into one. That’s why I built Venture Media and Venture Podcasting to help others use their voice, share their story, and build something that feels true to them, not what the world expects.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’d tell my younger self that it’s okay to move slower than others, you’re not behind. The moments that feel like detours are actually shaping the way you’ll lead, create, and connect later on. Every challenge is building empathy, and every setback is quietly preparing you to build something meaningful.

You don’t have to have it all figured out right away. Stay curious, trust your instincts, and remember that what makes you different is what will make your work stand out one day.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes but it’s the curated version of the real me. What you see publicly is 100% genuine, but it’s not the full story. I share the side that’s focused, creative, and driven because that’s the part of me that serves others best.

But behind the scenes, I’m constantly learning, questioning, and growing just like everyone else. Over time, I’ve realized authenticity isn’t about sharing everything; it’s about showing up with intention and staying true to your values no matter the setting.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I made them believe their story mattered. That I helped them see their own potential and gave them the tools or confidence to share it with the world.

I’ve always believed that real impact isn’t just in what you build, it’s in how you make people feel along the way. I want to be remembered as someone who created with purpose, led with kindness, and helped others build something that outlived both of us.
