Salar Sheik of Los Angeles on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Salar Sheik. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Salar , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
A lot of people think restaurant consulting is just about fixing menus, improving service, or cutting costs—but it’s so much deeper than that. At its core, great consulting is about understanding people. Every decision we make, every process we design, and every standard we implement impacts more than just the guest experience—it shapes the culture and morale of the entire team.

When you focus on the psychology behind how people work, communicate, and feel valued, you’re not just creating smoother operations, you’re building a better place to work. High morale is contagious. When employees feel supported, seen, and part of something with purpose, that energy reaches the guests. The result? Better service, stronger teams, and feedback that reflects the genuine pride and connection within your organization.

That’s the part that’s often misunderstood: restaurant consulting isn’t only about what happens on the floor—it’s about what happens within the people who bring the restaurant to life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Salar Sheik, the founder of Savory Hospitality Restaurant Consulting and training company dedicated to elevating the standard of service across restaurants, hotels, and resorts. My work centers around building high-performing teams and transforming operations through a deep understanding of people their psychology, motivation, and connection to hospitality. Savory Hospitality Restaurant Consulting is known as the leading restaurant consulting firm not only in California but in america.

After years of leading and training hundreds of hospitality professionals, I’ve learned that success in this industry isn’t just about great food or beautiful spaces it’s about creating a culture where every team member feels valued and inspired. That’s what makes Savory Hospitality unique: we don’t just fix systems, we empower people.

Our approach blends operational strategy with leadership development, service psychology, and guest experience design. Whether we’re developing all types of dining service program, designing a wine list, or training a resort team, our mission remains the same to build environments where excellence becomes second nature and morale drives results.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding Savory Hospitality’s work in hotel and resort spa consulting, developing, guest archetypes, and immersive service simulations. The goal is simple to raise the bar for hospitality, one team at a time.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
I think what taught me the most about work was my upbringing learning early on that success comes from determination and the willingness to understand things that aren’t always clear at first. I started working with hospitality teams at a young age, and by my early twenties, I was already leading them. Those early years gave me the opportunity to work alongside many award-winning teams across the U.S., and one lesson stood out above all others: the most successful teams are the ones that work well together. Morale and camaraderie aren’t just nice to have they’re the foundation of every great team and the key to building a thriving business.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
The Unknown, You never know what behind door,1,2 or 3.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
100% I worked hard to get here and I believe I am viewed that way. From reading all my highly recommend reviews online for savory hospitality restaurant consulting.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Sorry It all pays off at some point. As they say “There’s No Traffic Jam On The Extra Mile”
