Rising Stars: Meet Yu Vitor of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yu Vitor

Hi Yu, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I had this big dream that I wanna be an action actor in Hollywood since when I was kids, and I decided to be.
for my dreams I started lean Gymnastics & Acrobatics when I had 7 years old, Chinese Martial Arts when I had 12 years old and stunts, actions.

I met my soul mate when I was 15 years old. I’ve been dating her for 8 years now.
I hope to propose to her this October if it’s possible lol.

Anyway …when I was 17 years old I stared learn acting and I started make music and design at the same time. I participated in a lot of independent films and also in some big movies in Japan.

I did some live performance of my music and I did some pop up for my brands designs and I made a lot of songs too. When I was 21 years old, I came to LA to look for some acting school to replace my career here and I found one school.

I went to back to Japan one time to prepare for enter in that acting school and I came back to LA when I was 22 years old to enter in that school.

I started study a lot of technics of acting there, and acting in English 1 year, and I participated in a lot of shorts, feature, modeling job, HipHop Live Performance ..when I was at school that was a lot of good experience for me.
I’m during the process of my dream and I think I will make my dream come true.
my another dream is move out with my girlfriend to LA one day.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, the process was fun, but I think it was a rough road lol
especially I still struggle with it, but with my accent and my English.
I had to train a lot to compensate for my English.

When I came here, I knew I couldn’t go on like this, so I read and studied a lot of scripts and learned vocabulary.
I think I read around 100 scripts.

Thanks to that, It’s so much easier now and my training of martial arts and acrobatics practice was also very hard, but my martial arts and music helped me a lot.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an artist and martial arts teacher.

Action, acting, music, hip hop, martial arts, design.
I take pride in all the arts I am doing.

What makes me different from others is that I do martial arts and mix all the languages I speak (Japanese, English, Portuguese) for my acting and music.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
To leave your ego behind and open your heart.
Know that everyone you meet in your life is important.
And when talking to people, look them in the eye.
