Today we’d like to introduce you to Victoria Rojano.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When I was 19/20, I saw everyone around me was starting to get their life together (career-wise) and I felt like I was running out of time to get the ball rolling. I always had a passion for art, whether it was painting, drawing, ceramics, sewing & more. I knew I wanted to be my own boss at some point, but I wasn’t really sure what direction to go until I found tattooing.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say my journey so far has been smooth for the most part with a few hiccups on the way. It was a battle with my grandparents, who wanted me to go to college and believed that tattooing wasn’t a career. What they say to me is really important to me because they are the ones who raised me. Other than that, I feel like trying to find what works for me was my biggest struggle, too. Days that I felt like I wasn’t progressing, I would beat myself up and cry. Endless night where I wanted to give up.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a tattoo artist. I really love to do Disney, anime, and overall just cute, fun tattoos! I’m not too big of a fan of doing black and grey but I really love doing color tattoos! They are just so fun for me. I personally don’t think I have anything that sets me apart from others yet, just because I still have so much to learn. I’m just really proud of myself on how far I’ve gotten.
