Rising Stars: Meet Umesh Patil

Today we’d like to introduce you to Umesh Patil.

Hi Umesh, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Myself Umesh Patil. I pursued my graduation BFA in Mysore University, Followed by completing Master’s from Light & Life Academy, Ooty in Professional Photography in 2012.

After I finished my Masters, I moved to Mumbai to seek new experiences, also to learn to swim in the ocean of creativity. I feel fortunate to have assisted many big names from the Fashion Photography. They taught me how to perceive my carrier as a professional Photographer.

Gradually gathering the knowledge and experiences while working with the Masters themselves, I am now swimming out into the open ocean as I seek for more adventures. I Joined New York Film School. Now I am venturing to big screen to achieve my career as a cinematographer.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s never been a smooth road for me on this journey. From joining to collage to buying a DSLR Camera, Struggle started on my journey. As I come from a middle-class family. I did assisted a too photographer I’m in India for three years I get to learn a lot from them.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a photographer/cinematographer. I do fashion, editorial and advertising photography and cinematography. I have shoot many celebrity movie posters and commercials. My biggest celebrity was Nawazuddin Siddiqui he’s my all-time fev artist. I’m happy I have worked with him.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My family is my biggest supporter. They were always there for me to support my education. I told my parents that I want to learn cinematography and work on films and I wanted to study in New York film academy. At the age of 32, they still supported me to send Los Angeles. My parents are my hero’s.
