Rising Stars: Meet Tisha Brenee’

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tisha Brenee’.

Hi Tisha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started my creative journey at a very young age. I was always interested in making and creating things. From sewing and drawing to cooking and taking photos, I always knew I’d pursue the creative world in some way. I began to fall in love with the art of photography around the age of 13. I loved taking pictures of any and everything.

As I got older, my parents took notice and purchased my first Canon camera. I studied my camera, I studied natural lighting, and how to edit my photos on my own. The rest is history! As I continued to hone my craft, I stretched myself to create styles of work I could only imagine. Now, I’m focused on leveling up to create more high-fashion and editorial looks!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I think being a creator is never truly a smooth ride. Of course, there were struggles along the way. Many obstacles stood in the way that would cause me to want to give up on the art completely. However, my drive and belief in my goals stood much taller than the trials and tribulations, so I kept going.

Throughout the journey, you have to know that there will be bumps in the road. It may not be easy but I’ve always kept this quote in mind. “If you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand”. I truly believe anything you can dream of can come true. You can do whatever you want in this life. Just don’t quit.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a fashion photographer in the Greater Los Angeles Area. My style of work focuses more on displaying people of color in the most positive, beautiful, and elegant light. I think I’m most known for my authentic originality and for celebrating the “blackness” in my art. I believe I’m most proud of creating beautiful, timeless work and staying true to my art.

What’s next?
My plans for the future are pretty big. The next phase of my creative journey is filmmaking. I plan to move towards directing and writing feature films. As a film school graduate, I know firsthand what It takes to get the job done! I’m ready to take the industry by storm. So, be on the lookout for me!
