Rising Stars: Meet Steve Billionaird of Lake Balboa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Billionaird

Hi Steve, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story is I’m originally from New York, East Harlem where I was raised. I moved out here to pursue a Songwriting career in music! I had my first opportunity and success as an aspiring Songwriter meeting and working with Platinum Producer & XLP Distribution Owner Donald XL Robertson. He mentored and gave me the opportunity to work with up & coming artists which resulted in releasing songs I wrote and Co Wrote. I was able to have songs that I wrote used in sync placements, Looking back, it was great to have been given the opportunity to gain experience creatively working with producers & artists, but I always wanted to eventually use my creativity to inspire & motivate others to go after and pursue their dreams & purpose!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth road but it has definitely been a learning experience in all I have encountered and endured both professionally & in my personal life experiences. We all have our challenges of life ups & downs and what it presents! Some things you’re prepared for and some things you’re not but overall you try to learn from it all to gain wisdom. My motto has always been don’t give up and attain your dreams and goals you set for yourself.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
In my professional work life I worked for EMI/Capitol records in publishing for 10 years and that was a wonderful experience! I learned a lot about the business of music publishing that helped me as a Songwriter knowing the business of it. I also worked in Politics as an organizer. I worked for 7 years doing work in different communities throughout LA County and in the state of California. It was a great experience working with different people and learning how they think and what rights they wanted to be heard in order to understand their stance and philosophies on whatever particular issue, bill, politician or campaign they were passioned about. Now I’m embarking on working on my own fulltime becoming and entrepreneur in hopes to obtain my financial freedom.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a people person. I’m able to speak to anyone at any capacity and will find common ground with them.
