Rising Stars: Meet Siddhant Vig

Today we’d like to introduce you to Siddhant Vig.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I originally come from the financial capital of India, Mumbai. Mumbai is also referred to as the city of dreams. I come from a very beautiful and supportive family consisting of people who hold higher educations. I am the only child (son) to my parents. My initial journey started in Mumbai where I completed my High school. I do not come from a business background. Both my parents are in the service industry with no experience with or connections to the film industry or the movie-making business. My filmmaking journey began when I first attended the New York Film Academy in Battery Park NYC back in the year 2019 where I completed a one-year cinematography program right after which the pandemic hit the world in 2020 and the world came to a standstill for almost three years. I was stuck in India all through the pandemic which gave me a lot of time to think as to what I need to do with my career moving forward. I have had my Bachelor’s degree in management and entrepreneurship.

When the pandemic was almost over, I decided to pack my bags and finally move to the city of Angels, Los Angeles. I landed here in September of 2021 with dreams in my eyes to make a mark in the land of opportunities. I completed my Master in Producing from the New York Film Academy and I am currently working as a Co-Producer at Apoorv Arora Films LLC based out of Los Angeles. In the past one year, I have produced 10 short films and three music videos which have given me a major insight and some great learnings in the context to how does the business work in Hollywood. I am still learning and growing at my pace each day but I’m truly grateful to be doing what I am most passionate about in the city I am in love with.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I would be lying if I said that it has been a road full of roses because it hasn’t. I personally feel it’s been a little harder for me as an international student coming from the other side of the globe to try and find a place for myself in this city full of chaos and competition. It was honestly really hard initially as along with my program at school I was also trying to understand the city and the way of living here in Los Angeles. I came from a very pampered background and if I can talk about the smallest of things such as household chores, I had no clue how to do it. On the other hand, the work of a producer in this city is not the most easiest one. From finding prospect clients to then looking for high-budget investors, its been a struggle each day but I personally take that as a positive thing and my mantra is that you get nothing in life without the grind and hustle so just keep at it and take one day at a time 🙂

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work as a Producer in film. I produce short films, music videos, fashion commercials and everything under the umbrella of film and video production. I handle productions start to end. Right from the point when a script comes to me, breaking it down, budgeting, scheduling, hiring all crew, booking locations, and handling catering. I also assist my directors with post-production services and helping them put their films into appropriate film festivals. A year ago, back in Mumbai, I did not see myself doing or achieving even 1% of what I have today and more than materialistic things, it’s been unmatched eternal knowledge.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I would just like to say that it does not matter where you come from, what matters is that you stay close and focused towards your purpose.
