Rising Stars: Meet Sandra Bracamontes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Bracamontes.

Hi Sandra, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
CEO, and founder of Plan My Party. Just before the start of the pandemic, I was just jumping back into my real estate career after being a stay-at-home mom for four years. However, God had other plans. I had for many years always been told that I had a creative eye and that I should pursue event planning. I never really believed in myself. I thought who would hire me! After all, my only experience was decorating and planning my own children’s events. It was something that I was so passionate about but had a lot of self-doubt on whether or not that was something that I could be successful in. One morning, I woke up from a dream and in that dream my company’s name would be named Plan My Party. I had an urgency in my spirit to go all in. No more self-doubt and no more talking myself out of it. I was going to take a leap of faith and trust that God had given me this dream as confirmation that he would bless it. Immediately, as I lay in bed I created my social platforms. It was slow going at first as I really didn’t have any content to display for potential clients. Then when the pandemic hit. I had to pivot and innovate to survive. I began offering no contact balloon bouquet deliveries and balloon garland installations for drive-by celebrations. This was the start of my business being catapulted to where it is today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing in life is certain and we all face challenges in life. Clearly, as I mentioned before I had a lot of insecurities of whether or not I could be successful in this business. I was struggling in my personal life with my self-worth and value. As I was seeking to find my true identity and purpose. I had to constantly keep myself motivated and inspired to persevere no matter what was happening in my personal life. In my struggles, I have learned that no matter what challenges will come, God’s plan is greater than whatever I can even think of or imagine. It’s not why did I have to go through that but how can I grow from that experience and what have I learned.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Plan My Party specializes in balloon art, backdrops and event design. We have many rental options and balloon design options to choose from. We can customize any theme! We are known for our attention to detail and creativity to transform our client’s visions into a “one of a kind” masterpiece. We are proud of every opportunity that is given to us! What sets us apart is that we understand the need to create designs that will leave a lasting impression in the hearts of those we create for.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice would be to believe in yourself and take action! Know what things cost and then know your worth to add to that. Don’t be afraid to fail, that’s part of the learning and growing. Just don’t quit! Perseverance is key. I am actually self-taught, I did a lot of research online to figure out different ways and techniques. I actually want to start teaching classes! So stay tuned for that. I would love to help you along your journey. I wish someone would of gave me a handbook and blueprint. However, everyone’s journey is different and you just have to take that leap of faith and just start it!
