Rising Stars: Meet Rommel Baylon of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rommel Baylon.

Hi Rommel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My original career choice was to be a firefighter, But God had other plans for me and I switched gears to become a physical therapist, (There’s a backstory to that) So I went back to school to get my prerequisites for physical therapy. At the same time I was working at a hospital to get some experience as a physical therapy aide. When the time came to apply for PT school, I got in on the first round.

I got into PT school, but it was no easy task but I took it lately and I paid the consequences. I failed my first year and had to make a hard decision if I wanted to go back, but I knew I was better than some other students that passed so I came back the following year with more confidence and a different perspective on PT school. I was able to get through my rotations and graduate in 2019 but shortly after the world shut down and Covid hit luckily I was able to find work in a hospital and do home health physical therapy also.

Something was missing and I was looking at job websites to find something else and I found a listing on craigslist. So I reached out on the website and emailed the contact us link that was there. I got an interview the next day and it went well. I started the next week and it began my journey to become a Lymphatic physical physical therapist. I learned the technique from my sensei. She brought out the skills that I know I had somewhere inside me then three years into working it was time for me to do my own thing.

I am two years into my own practice still with a lot of options and downs and still trying to figure out my place and there’s journey to become a great healer to help others.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
