Today we’d like to introduce you to Olusheyi Banjo.

Hi Olusheyi, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my professional music career 25 years ago when i was in a group with my friend Patrick call Crazy For Jesus. I eventually went solo in 2002. My first solo single was also released that year. In 2005 my first poetry book was released. In 2006 my first solo album “Look What God Has Done” was released. I started my podcast career in 2007. I also began my ministry in 2006 as well. I also began my podcast career later that year. I began my comedy career in 2010. Since then, I have released 22 poetry books. 3 children’s books. 9 years of my Big O’s Top 20 Countdown podcast. Almost 29 albums (2 albums are set to be released on June 3rd) and won awards.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been kind of difficult. I’ve faced multiple challenges. One struggle that i had to deal with was my father and great-grandmother passing in 2008, they were very close to me. Another struggle that I had to deal with was me not becoming a pastor of my Godfather’s church and it eventually closing down. So many other things have occurred as well . But thank God that I made it through.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a singer/songwriter/pastor/comedian/poet/author/Father/grandfather

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the weather and I love some of the people. I also love that this is the entertainment capital of the world
