Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike Harris.
Hi Mike, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I moved to LA in 2018 from Oregon and am originally from Atlanta living there for over 30 years. When I moved to Los Angeles, I started a photography business focusing on real estate and fashion. Over the years I’ve been able to make real estate photography my primary occupation. I also do product, fashion, event and runway photography.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a steady increase year over year with covid creating its chaos. Fortunately, real estate was deemed to be an essential industry so I was still productive.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As much as I love fashion work I’m most proud of developing the skills required to succeed in real estate photography. It’s an emmence market in LA obviously. Specifically my work in the commercial realm of real estate is the most highly rewarding. Recently I’ve added product photography to the services I offer and have been enjoying the learning experience and challenges associated with a new endeavor.
