Mariah Moore

Hi Mariah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Formally recognized as “Yaya Did My Hair,” I have decided to conclude a decade-long chapter of my life as a celebrity hairstylist.

As I embrace motherhood, I have always aspired to make each holiday a unique and memorable occasion. My passion for creativity has been amplified by the desire to impress my children, which has deepened my commitment to crafting special moments.

My most significant event was a celebration for my daughters, both born in August, to celebrate their 1st and 2nd birthdays. I envisioned a Sesame Street carnival and orchestrated an experience akin to what one might find at the Orange County Fair. From arranging shuttle services to setting up a ticket booth, and creating various engaging stations and activities, I ensured the event was enjoyable for both children and adults alike. The planning process took six months, during which I meticulously attended to every detail. The event was such a resounding success that attendees were astonished to learn I was the mastermind behind it, exclaiming, “Yaya did it!”

This initial success motivated me to continually challenge myself and explore new creative avenues. From my daughters’ birthdays to family holidays, I endeavored to transform every occasion into a memorable experience, leading friends and family to seek my assistance in planning their events.

As I approached the conclusion of my ten-year journey in the hairstyling industry, I realized it was time for a new endeavor. I am eager to reach new heights by creating memorable events that allow me to spend more quality time with my family while continuing to pursue my passion for crafting unforgettable moments for everyone.

“God, Family, Happiness. In that order.”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
People often see only the end result, overlooking the hard work and challenges that accompany the roles of an entrepreneur, mother, and wife.

The loss of my mother at the age of 25 has posed one of the greatest challenges in my life, leaving me without a support system to assist with childcare while striving to achieve success in the event business. Each day presents a new set of challenges, with time being my biggest obstacle. I must carefully plan to ensure that all aspects of my life are aligned.

Many assume that entrepreneurs possess endless time; however, the reality is quite different. Much of my time is dedicated to work and the demands it entails.

What I truly cherish about this business is that, despite being the creator, it provides an opportunity to involve my family. My husband and I collaborate closely; as the owner of his own printing company, Print Lab Society, he plays an essential role in bringing my unique and creative visions to fruition. Additionally, my children are actively engaged and interested in the process, which alleviates some of the challenges associated with time management. This collaborative effort allows me to pursue my work without the guilt of neglecting my family, transforming our endeavors into shared family activities.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I consider myself an event coordinator, rather than a balloon artist. I have a profound appreciation for the details and thoughtfulness that contribute to creating special events.

I assist clients in planning their events, whether they lack the time to do it themselves or value my eye for crafting memorable experiences. My goal is to alleviate their workload by providing comprehensive support, including venue selection, theme development, setup, entertainment, custom items, and catering. I am highly hands-on throughout the entire process.

I take great pride in the trust my clients place in me to handle such significant moments in their lives. They rely on my creativity to bring their visions to life.

What distinguishes me from others in the field is my attention to detail and my understanding that while budgets may be limited, everyone deserves the opportunity to see their dreams realized. I strive to provide reasonable budget options that allow for the curation of memorable and enjoyable events without compromising financial stability. It is my sincere desire for my clients to feel honored and delighted to host an event that is both beautiful and affordable.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Is it good luck or bad luck? Its God, without him nothing is possible or anything is possible. Certain obstacles I have been faced with is simply because it is not the right time. When the time comes it will present itself. What’s for me will be for me. As long as I continue to put my faith into him everything will fall into place as such. I would have never been lead to this business if it weren’t for God. Him allowing me to share my creativity with others is all I can ask for, the success is a bonus.
