Today we’d like to introduce you to Marco (NARD) Alvarado
Hi Marco (NARD), it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been infatuated with creating content since I was a kid, it has always followed me. I have seen and experienced the evolution of content creation on YouTube, back when viral videos were just memes and only thirty seconds long. As time went on, people like Fred, Epic Meal Time, and Ray William Johnson changed the game by creating large communities with their content, ultimately leading to their social media careers. Content creation looked so fun to me, and the idea of YouTube as a whole inspired me to give it a try with a video camera. I went through a long journey of finding my place in the YouTube sphere, from stop-motion animation, vlogging, reviews, and to today’s content that I put out now.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a fun ride so far, making different genres of content and figuring out what I want to stick to has been tricky, but I enjoy it. I’ve met so much people from collaborating on the platform, which has led to many great projects and friendships. I guess the stressful thing can be the mental battles I have had with myself along the way, from feeling imposter syndrome, getting writer’s block, or even just overthinking things at times. I think that’s just part of the experience though.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Lately I have put my focus heavily on a live podcast/show that I run with my best friends. Most people know us from that. We run the show using an OBS, and became very familiar with the interface, which has became a very useful tool for me. Editing has also been a fun hobby of mine, I enjoy putting projects together for myself and others, whether it be a vlog or a TikTok clip. I’ve been super proud and grateful of the live show that I created with my close friends, watching the show evolve has been really interesting. We’re more willing to do what mostly others don’t, no matter the scale. Being friends, we have pushed each other to go past what we even thought of ever doing, and I really think that dynamic is important. I truly believe what sets us apart from others is the star power we have in the group, there’s so much talent and potential in our small community we have made together, including the team. The new thing I’ve been hooked on lately is making music, which will be another project that I will be focused on in my endeavor.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Getting familiar with other creators and artists is a game changer, you can inspire each other, and also meet people from other people. Getting out of your comfort zone and finding other artists to appreciate goes a long way.
