Rising Stars: Meet Kaylene Kaiser

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylene Kaiser.

Hi Kaylene, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got my start in retail at the age of 16 and quickly found my niche in creating connections with customers and building relationships with people. I’ve also been very fortunate to work with incredible people who have mentored me and given me valuable feedback (and constructive criticism, of course!)

As I grew throughout my career over the years, I maintained my commitment to developing as a leader and creating quality connections. I recognized early on that networking is truly everything, and after years in the hospitality industry, I realized that LA was severely lacking a space where leaders could come together to collaborate and get to know fellow business owners and leaders- in a modern, meaningful way.

Entrepreneurship really can be a lonely journey, and our greatest resource is always one another.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I find the road of entrepreneurship to be a bit like Mulholland Drive, honestly. The biggest challenge in my business thus far happened right away- essentially right after I launched The Wisery LA. My intention was to offer multiple options for people to work with me and one another… but ultimately, I overwhelmed myself and felt burned out almost immediately. I had to pause everything and go back to the drawing board. I had to remember why I originally wanted to start a business at all. I had lost my original vision of empowering women and bringing them together by stretching myself too thin.

So, I needed to recalibrate and strip it down to two core focuses: TWLA’s Networking Events & 1:1 Leadership Mentoring. That’s it. And wow, what a relief that has been! I am a firm believer in throwing spaghetti at the wall, but I’ve learned (the hard way) that sometimes simple is better. As long as you’re honoring your authentic self and coming from a place of service- you really can’t go wrong.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am most proud of being able to remain patient with myself and being able to pivot when I needed to. I recognized early on that the tighter you hold onto something, the harder it is to really hold on to. It’s okay if something isn’t working in your business and it is more than okay to let that something go in order to make room for something that will. It’s a key point that I tell every single one of my 1:1 clients, and ironically it was something that I still had to practice for in my own business! I do my best to learn from my mistakes and fumbles, as they are absolutely inevitable *laughs*

What’s next?
I’m really looking forward to hosting The Wisery LA’s first Private Networking Event this spring. These are NOT your typical hotel ballroom with a name tag type of events. Our private events are held in gorgeous spaces, have incredible local speakers, delicious catering, and instagram-worthy backdrops. The Wisery is committed to quality, elevated experiences for people to come together and create meaningful connections. Keep an eye out on our instagram for upcoming dates, you’re not going to want to miss the chance to get a ticket to one of these.

Pricing:

  • $150- 1hr private leadership mentoring session with Kaylene
  • Private Networking Events are bespoke depending on event
  • Public Networking Events are free and usually hosted by very cool brands all over LA
