Rising Stars: Meet Joseph Spierer of Redondo Beach, CA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Spierer

Hi Joseph, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am Joseph Spierer, a licensed architect with over 20 years of experience, passionate about creating thoughtful, client-focused designs. A Southern California native, I earned my architecture degree from The University of Arizona and am licensed to practice in over 40 states.

I specialize in residential and commercial projects, designing homes and spaces throughout the South Bay and beyond.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have always had a clear trajectory, of course, with challenges along the way. Starting a firm came with many challenges, from generating business to managing projects to leading a team.

But every roadblock, I saw as an opportunity to grow and change. This only deepened my passion for architecture. Those changes shaped who I am today, and I’m grateful for the journey.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My firm focuses on creating timeless, thoughtfully crafted homes that reflect each client’s unique vision and personality. While we’re known for our work throughout the South Bay and beyond, our projects range from ground-up construction to adaptive reuse and commercial spaces.

What sets us apart is our personalized approach. We listen closely to our clients, guiding them through the design process to create spaces that are both functional and meaningful. Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do—from clients and builders to designers and consultants.

I’m most proud of the relationships we’ve built and the trust our clients place in us. Seeing a design come to life and knowing it will be part of someone’s story for years to come is incredibly rewarding. Ultimately, it’s not just about the buildings we create—it’s about the experiences they inspire.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My success wouldn’t be possible without the support of many incredible people. First and foremost, I’m grateful to my family, whose encouragement has been unwavering from the start.

I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to my business partner, Eileen Gueringer, who has been by my side since day one. Her dedication, expertise, and friendship have been instrumental in building the firm.

Lastly, I want to acknowledge the entire JSA team, past and present. Their talent, hard work, and passion have been vital to our success. I’m deeply proud of what we’ve built together and excited for what’s ahead.
