Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Gutierrez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello there my name is Jonathan and I am the owner and detailer from Best In Class detailing. BBB Accredited, veteran owned and operated small business. I started detailing cars ever since i owned my first car. Throughout the years it grew into a passion. Fast forward a couple of years and now I decided to take that passion and turn it into a business. I may not be the fastest detailer but that’s what sets me apart. My prices are based not so much as what other detailers may charge but for the industry standard chemicals I use in my detailing arsenal as well as paying attention to all the details as I did in my military career. Been in the industry going on 3 years now.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth road? Not quite. Learning the ins and outs about being your own solo-preneur, ie having to wear so many hats and being so many departments all in one while trying to take care of all my clients and vendors. I’m sure just like any other job you’re going to learn a few new things.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a mobile detailer. I specialize in detailing your vehicle in and out. I’m known for being meticulous about everything I do, my respect for the clients and their property being their vehicles. What I’m most proud of is being blessed to have clients keep calling me back and new ones in wanting to try my services out. Without then there’s no me. What sets me apart from other in my humble opinion is that, treating everyone with respect and educating them about how to maintain and taking care of their vehicles.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Take your time, be patient and don’t rush into it. Learn as much as you can without burning yourself out. Try and go on a ride along and get some hands on training with other detailers. Go to your local detail shop and learn about the products and ask other detailers that come in the shop questions as well as the employees working those shops. Always have an open mind and think outside the box. Learn as much as you can and implement that into your own process. Anything I wish I knew before I started out? Yes, not knowing how much all this can add up so quick so fast.
