Rising Stars: Meet Jasmine Ponce of Fountain Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Ponce.

Hi Jasmine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I joined the aesthetic industry during the COVID shutdown. Being isolated and going through grief, it really showed me what I wanted to do in my life. I was always interested in skincare and prior to esthetics, I was trying to become a nurse with a specialty in dermatology. While going to school for my pre-requisites in nursing, my grandpa died, who I wanted to become a nurse for. When this happened, I realized I never really wanted to be a nurse, I just wanted to help people. As I still loved skincare, becoming an Esthetician was my goal and Im so grateful it chose me. I now have my own business and have been making women and men feel more confident in their skin for the past 4 years. It’s been a rollercoaster but one that I wouldn’t get off of. I love what I do and am so excited to grow in this career field!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road! I feel like a lot of people believe this industry is easy when that’s not the case at all. It’s a lot of investment and trusting in yourself and your craft. Investing in yourself and your business is never ending but if you believe in what you do, money will always come back tenfold. There’s also always going to be other estheticians in your area which can cause a lot of doubt but you need to trust that whoever is meant to be your client, will find you. The more you trust yourself, the more your clients will as well.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a licensed esthetician who specializes in Brazilian waxing & dermaplane facials. I’m known for giving girls the smoothest wax & my skin baddie facial which includes a spiritual cleanse as well. I’ve been bringing more holistic approaches into my practice which me and my clients have been loving. I’m proud of being able to flow within my business and try different services I’ve always wanted to implement.
What sets me apart from others is that I grew up without any resources to help me in my skin journey and had to learn myself. This allows me to communicate the science of skincare to my community in a more relatable way. There’s never judgement in my suite and I’m always an open ear, with a little sass of course, that shows my clients I truly do care for them. I also really do love that the majority of my clients become friends and we get to be part of each others journeys in life. I wouldn’t want it any other way!
