Today we’d like to introduce you to Ife Hinkson.
Hi Ife, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started photography in high school. I took it as an elective and fell in love it. We used film cameras and developed our own film, which in hindsight was such a great skill to learn. I used to take pictures of any and everything! My friends and family noticed my passion for photography and I became the designated photographer for all events. Shortly after graduating, I got my first digital camera and the rest was history.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a photographer has its ups and downs. There are times where I doubt myself and have major imposter syndrome. Now I just create whatever I feel inside so my photography reflects the mood or place I’m in at the current time.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am still figuring out the type of photography that most resonates with me. I shoot anything from family to fashion/editorial. I just enjoy being behind the camera and letting my subjects shine. I don’t create content just for social media. When I shoot, I shoot with purpose.
How do you think about happiness?
The thing that makes me most happy is having the freedom to create and express myself freely through my work.
