Hi Humberto, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As I settled into my new life in Los Angeles, the bustling city of dreams, I couldn’t help but reflect on the incredible journey that had brought me here. Leaving my career as a radio personality in Northern California had been a difficult decision, but I knew that if I wanted to pursue my dream of becoming an actor, I needed to be where the opportunities were abundant.

During those initial months in Los Angeles, I worked as a background actor, hoping to catch a break. The entertainment industry was notoriously competitive, and I soon realized that simply being in the city wasn’t enough. I needed to build connections and find my path in this vast and bustling landscape.

It was during this time that a friend living in Los Angeles extended an invitation for me to explore the city. While he couldn’t offer me any direct connections, his enthusiasm and support were a beacon of hope. I decided to take a leap of faith and plan my move to Southern California.

However, just two weeks before my departure, I received a crushing blow. The apartment I had reserved and the new job I had lined up suddenly became unavailable. I was left with nothing but $800 and my unwavering dream of becoming an actor. It was a moment of intense uncertainty, but I held onto my faith and determination.

After fervent prayer and a deep breath, I made the bold move to Los Angeles. The city welcomed me with both challenges and opportunities. Immediately, I crossed paths with a DJ who helped me secure an apartment, and I had just enough money to pay the deposit and first month’s rent. It was a small victory, but it felt like a sign that I was on the right path.

My journey took a surprising turn when I received an offer to work at KTLA Channel 5, my first job in Los Angeles. Although it wasn’t an acting job, it was a step towards my ultimate goal. I was now a part of the city’s vibrant media landscape, and I was determined to make the most of it.

Over time, I built relationships with people in the industry, took numerous acting classes, and worked tirelessly in front of and behind the scenes on student and short films. These experiences not only sharpened my skills but also expanded my network.

However, life took an unexpected turn when I had to take a 12-year hiatus from pursuing my dreams to focus on raising my children. It was a challenging period, but I never let go of my passion for acting.

Now, I find myself back in the city of dreams, rekindling the fire of my aspirations. The journey has transformed me into a better artist, a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a disciple of Jesus Christ. Through it all, I’ve learned the invaluable virtues of patience and perseverance.

As I step back onto the path toward my dreams, I carry with me the wisdom and resilience I’ve gained over the years. The road may still have its bumps and hurdles, but I know that with faith, hard work, and unwavering belief in my abilities, I can continue to chase my dreams and make them a reality.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Continuing on my journey toward success, I’ve encountered challenges that shaped me. During a challenging period, I connected with others pursuing their unique dreams. We faced similar obstacles and shared a determination to succeed.

Together, we learned to view setbacks as opportunities for growth. Instead of resenting roadblocks, we embraced them to refine our skills and creativity.

Over the years, our paths diverged and converged, leading us to success in our respective fields. These friendships became a supportive community, inspiring and challenging each other to reach new heights.

Looking back, I cherish the experiences and the people who shaped my journey. Every obstacle added depth to my story, making it uniquely extraordinary.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At my core, I am an actor, and I’ve had the privilege of inhabiting a variety of roles throughout my career – from the loving father to the dedicated doctor, the sharp detective, and the nurturing uncle. These roles have become my signature, the ones I’m most frequently cast in.

What fills me with the greatest sense of fulfillment, however, is the opportunity to collaborate with exceptionally talented creatives. These partnerships extend beyond the confines of the set, allowing me to forge deep and meaningful relationships.

My approach to acting is one of unwavering commitment. When I step into a character’s shoes, I do so with complete dedication and a sense of purpose. This commitment enables me to explore the depths of the characters, understanding their motivations, and bringing them to life authentically within the context of the story. Each role I undertake is not just a performance but a journey into the heart and soul of the character, and it’s this process that fuels my passion for the art of acting.’s essence and fulfill their purpose within the story.

What’s next?
My aspiration is to continue building my acting career while also using my platform to reach and connect with diverse audiences. My personal journey has been marked by the challenges of growing up with polio, which presented its own set of difficulties. I faced bullying because of my physical condition, as my walk wasn’t conventional. However, I never allowed this adversity to hinder my pursuit of what I loved. In fact, it served as a source of strength and hope, knowing that I could overcome and thrive in the future.

Children can be exceptionally harsh, often unaware of the pain their actions and words can inflict on others. It’s crucial to remember that those who are disabled or simply different are not adversaries; they are unique individuals. Embracing and appreciating each other’s distinctiveness is a beautiful aspect of human diversity. Personally, I’ve never viewed myself as disabled; I consider myself unique. It’s this uniqueness that sets us apart and makes life richer.

Looking ahead, I eagerly anticipate meeting people who see me for who I am as a person, appreciating and caring for me because of my individuality. I believe that one of the most significant changes I will make is in the company I keep. As Confucius wisely stated, “Happiness is when you are understood, great happiness is when you are loved, real happiness is when you love.” My aim is to embody this sentiment both in my career and personal life, fostering understanding, love, and genuine connections with others.
