Rising Stars: Meet Henry Alfonso of Pasadena

Today we’d like to introduce you to Henry Alfonso

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My story started as a 5 year old boy who loves to sing , dance and bright colors. I would get beat up alot of the time by my father and the kids at school for beingt to flamboyant. This went on from age 5 to 14. I was depressed, suicidal and felt worrhless all these years . Fast forward 22years old i finally found my confidence I believe in myself and fight back . I become a real estate sell many houses and finally feel successful. This didnt go to well with my family , friends or community.
I started getting harrassed from all angels . My cars vandalized, a gun pointed at me at 711, money stolen, robbed , roomate poisoning me.
I started fighting back , recording when situations happen , exposing what these ppl where doing to me . The videos started exposing them after a year of this they finally decide to stop harassing me . And here i am now building again but this time is to be of service to ppl that got bullied like me . Im raising money for my youth center where we will teach youth and adults how to self defend , self worth, self love .

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the hardest times I recall in this journey was my producer Homar ( changed name for legal purposes). He was my music producer roomate whose job was to get my music out there. As the months where going by i started getting sick . Sleeping from 9pm till 3pm the next day. My spine would hurt and i woke up really dizzy. By month 3 i had trouble walking and couldn’t drive becase i started loosing vision in my left eye . My mom and my friend juan where worried about me and couldn’t figure out what was wrong. Juan started digging around looking for clues . He asked what do i eat daily , i told him the vitamin pills homar bought me. He grabed the pills and cut them in half . What was spouse to be an all natural pill ended up being a capsule filled with some acidic white powder later tested ended up being arsenic poison. We discovered omar had been poisoning me for months. My mom and family where shocked. My mom said we either call the police or send him back to arizona. I felt i was endangered and wanted him far away as possible so we sent him back to his moms in arizona at 5am in the morning. I felt so confused and betrayed my best friend would do this. Months after he left he had been stealing my money the whole time. The few songs of mine he put out he was taking credit for and getting paid for it . It was devastating but as the months passed i slowly recovered. Im Greatful to god who kept my faith alive. As i was recovering i herd a spanish beat and words of encouragement flew out , singing to myself i must keep going , must have faith to go on , i had to continue to fly to tell my story and encourage others to go on . My job know is to inspire and uplift others with music. I will do this with my youth center coming soon called ” Julia y Milagros Place” after my two grandmothers who both love me very much. Shout out to the milagros center who have been an inspiration to what i want to do.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a clairavoyant singer composer. Im able to hear an instrumental for the first time and start composing a song on the spot. It shicks me and blows my mind , some are hits. What most shocks me are the messages i get from each song. It can be for me or others around me.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Im actually excited about moving from lil monrovia to the big beautiful los angeles. I love the freedome , culture and possibilities. I would like to see more help for the homless cummunity. I love the diversity los angeles has. You can be your wild creative self and people don’t mind it. As it should be.
