Rising Stars: Meet Grace Patterson of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Grace Patterson.

Hi Grace, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up in a small Texas town with big dreams of writing, making movies, and acting. As a kid, I filmed short movies, wrote my own screenplays, and hosted little “premieres” for my family in our living room. When I was twelve, my parents let me start working in local commercials and independent films, and I was hooked from that moment on.

After college, I packed up and moved to Los Angeles, where I began booking Lifetime movies and independent films that took me all over the world, from Austria to Serbia and beyond. Along the way, I discovered my love for storytelling in another form: writing. I published my memoir Am I Perfect Yet? Finding Fullness in My Authentic Self, and my debut fiction novel Timeless releases this month. Most recently, I produced an action thriller titled Croatoan, which will be released in 2026. I love storytelling in every shape and form. It’s my passion and what keeps me going.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all. There have been countless setbacks and millions of moments when I wanted to quit. Pursuing a career in entertainment is hard—soul-crushing and devastating at times, yet exhilarating and euphoric at others. The constant rejection can wear you down. There are seasons when you feel unstoppable, like the momentum will never fade, and then suddenly, it does. The silence hits. Nothing but crickets. Those are the moments when believing in yourself feels impossible because it seems like no one else does. But that’s when it matters most. You have to keep your passion and belief alive. That’s why I tell stories in every form. When I’m not booking roles, I’m writing or producing.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an actress known for films such as Slotherhouse, Cheer For Your Life, Spring Break Nightmare, Her Deadly Game, Love’s Fast Lane, and many others. I’m also the author of Am I Perfect Yet? Finding Fullness in My Authentic Self, Heart On Her Sleeve, and my upcoming novel Timeless, releasing this month. In addition to acting and writing, I’m a producer currently developing two unscripted shows and the action thriller Croatoan, set to release in 2026.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Yes! Reach out to people for advice. Be bold. You’d be surprised how many are willing to help. I love getting emails and messages from eager, hardworking, and talented individuals, and I’m always happy to offer guidance when I can. People are often drawn to those who are brave enough to ask questions and hungry enough to chase their dreams.
